Having a free afternoon, I checked my regular direct debit payments. Two phone calls later I am £60 a year better off.
First one was to insurance for my fridge/freezer - only appliance I keep insurance for, and noted that this had gone up and up in monthly cost. Phone call, and it was brought back down.
Next phone - even quicker - to my mobile phone company, again I complained of increase in charges and was immediately offered a third off what I was being charged.
Now £60 a year may not seem a lot to some people - but for me it is a sizeeable amount and far better in my bank account than that of insurance and mobile phone companies
