Premium Bonds Winnings

I have not checked for ages but have won £100 this month! Thanks for reminding me as I can't find an email from NS&I

£5.00 yes 5 pounds worth from 1972. Had a few small wins over the years.

My Bonds were a 21st birthday present over 50 years ago, but I've never won a penny. I don't even have any paperwork about them now (lost over the years) and don't know how to check them. My mum always checked hers and mine, a sort of monthly ritual, but I never bothered, so I may have won something without knowing. I rather thought PBs had died out replaced by lottery tickets and scratch cards.

£500 for my son today.

I don;t think the bonds are an investment as such but better than buying a lottery ticket - that is money you will never get back whilst bonds can be cashed in,

My gran bought a bond for me for birthdays way back in 1950's. So I have £4 worth... but in 1967 I won £25 and not a peep since

£250 for me, £175 for hubby and £200 for our son. We all have the maximum in though.

I won £25 and DH won £150 this month

Like others I was eagerly awaiting good news in the Jan draw due to all the hype about increased price fund. In December I won 6 prizes (£250) and DH 4 prizes (£200). January - nothing for either of us!! 😞

My mum got Premium bonds in the early 1950s. I found them in an old envelope whilst clearing out her bungalow early 2019 after she died.
Not one win, ever !

£50 for me, and £25 for my husband.

Makes you wonder if bonds are held back if you have a decent 'win'. £250 for me in December. Nothing this month which seems to be a pattern by what other people say

DH didn't win this month I won 2 prizes £75

My husband won three prizes this month adding up to £100 and I won £25. Definitely more than we usually win.

£750 for me this month

Have never won more than £25. I suppose that's better than some savings accounts.

Not a bean for 3 months. Usually win £25 every few months.

Really surprised how many of us have es won regularly.
My children were bought premium bonds by their grandparent over 45 years ago and they have won absolutely zilch.

£225 between us. Did well last month too. Useful as have had lot of expense re home.

Do they let you know if you win these days? We saved up to get married 62 years ago and won nothing. We left £10 in when we cashed them in. Wonder if those bonds have disintegrated as they are churned around in Ernie? We have another £1,500 put in about thirty years ago. Now we don’t add any more as we decided to have everything in joint names as we want as few problems as possible when the inevitable happens.

You can register online with NS&I. They give you a personal number which doesn’t change regardless of how many bonds you may purchase in the future.
You can also download the NS&I app on your phone or tablet.
The app tells you if you have been lucky that month and how much you have won. It will also state when the next draw will be announced. It’s very easy to use.
When you go on, it says to be aware of your surroundings as you look! It’s so exciting 😂
They will always tell you by email a couple of days after the draw.

I had some for 75 years and never won a penny

£25.00 this month. I find over a year it pays as much as I would get in a savings account. Holding out for a big prize one day. Fingers x.

Martin Lewis has a tool on his site with which you can calculate how lucky you are (or he used to). I won nothing this month (previous 6 months as follows - July £50, Aug £50, Sept £25, Oct nothing, Nov £25, Dec £50.

I like having my bonds just for the fun of the potential win.

I think that's unlucky Peaseblossom. My husband has a few thousand less than you and he has had £750 since September this year. In our experience they are streets ahead of any interest you would get anywhere.

I first bought £10,000 of premium bonds about 9 months ago. Just after the first month I won £25 and won £25 about a month ago. My son-in-law and granddaughter have won loads of £25. I then decided I’d put another £20,000 into them, but since having £30,000 in there I have only won £25. As interest rates are so low you actually get more if you have premium bonds, or so I thought. I must say I’m disappointed with my minimal winnings so far, but I’ll keep them in there.
