Crypto currency….. have any of you invested yet?

No. I haven't any money I can afford to lose, so have no investments at all.

And then, I don't understand investing in something that doesn't have a physical form. I can see that if I invest in gold or flour, and demand for them fluctuates, then my investment will fluctuate. Who decides how crypto currency varies in value?

I wouldn't even think about it. It's far too risky and has undercurrents of the dark web about it. Use a financial advisor to invest for you if you have spare cash.

How do I get these callers to stop ringing me? I block the number, then they ring again with another number, different end digits. My husband and I both have health problems so can do without this daily harassment. Should I report them to the police?

I showed interest in one that had Martin Lewis’s picture with it. Now I have calls every day, sometimes several. I answered them at first but the guy was really pushy and rude, then told me I was rude!
It’s a nightmare. They are using different numbers every day. At least 20 since 10 January

Yes I bought a BTL from my landlord who wanted a quick sale to go abroad and join her daughter in Dubai. Bargained hard and got the house for 80% of its value. It did need a few things doing to it though - like new kitchen, boiler and a rather scruffy garden. Its a small detached - two beds and a boxroom type and set on a corner. A funny back to front house with the "front" door up an alley with no vehicle access.

I invested in crypto many years ago and made enough to buy a house. I still have a small amount in crypto but would not re-invest any significant sum at present.

Building societies give a much better interest rate than the banks.

There appears to be a facility on PayPal to buy digital currency. Has anyone tried it?

I invested in it many years ago - unfortunately not in the very beginning. However I made enough to buy a house with a very small mortgage and am not mortgage free. I still have a hardware wallet with some bitcoins in it for a "rainy day".

The real question is has anyone been able to realise their numerical gain?

There are several different crypto currencies of which Bitcoin is the best known.

Any kind of currency trading is high risk unless you are a professional, movements are unpredictable an amateur will never react quickly enough to make money and often loose a lot.

I invested modestly in crypto long ago and used the proceeds to buy my current house. I am not a gambler by nature (lived in Las Vegas for a year and only visited a casino once where I lost $13)

I still have some crypto coins stored in a harware wallet but have not really dabbled since.
