Renting a flat in sheltered housing

Hi everyone I’m thinking of moving in rented sheltered housing. I have a flat to sell would they take into consideration the proceeds from the sale. I have a daughter and I wanted to be able to leave them something in my will. Has anyone sold there house and done this. Advice please
