Sorry Eloethan, I have only just seen your question

It was a real challenge trying to navigate the website (link above) and find the answer, but it is there, tucked away.....

If you do any work in a self-employed capacity during your MPP, then such work will not affect your SMP

However, if she gets pregnant again, and is only working in a self employed capacity, she will not be entitled to SMP.
She will have to claim Maternity Allowance instead and not earn anything on top of that.

I hope someone can help please!

My DD is 30 weeks pregnant and until last week, had two jobs.
One where she had a zero hours contract - but regular work (job 1). And one where she is self employed, working from home. (Job 2)

Last week she started her maternity leave from job 1 and is entitled to statutory maternity pay.

Does she have to stop all of her job 2 work now? Or can she legitimately carry on earning a small amount?

Googling the answer is confusing us confused!

She has phoned her accountant a couple of times who says they will get back to her but haven't so far hmm

I really want to help her but I'm rubbish at understanding it all too!
