My friend has just had a shock that makes you think ...... Her father passed away recently and lived in a residential home so she was obliged to sell his house to pay the fees. The house was left to her and her siblings, with any residue monies left to the grandchildren. But the house had been sold, no amount was specified for the grandchildren, so on paper, the three offspring are left with nothing, with all monies going to the grandchildren..... That was not her fathers intention, but it makes you think doesn't it. Do try and check that you're not going to be left in that situation - it happens a lot by all accounts.
This would under normal circumstances be headline news
