Paint colours for kitchen

Hello everyone. You were kind enough to give me paint ideas for my new kitchen. At long last it has been painted today!
I chose the colour Cromarty from Farrow and Ball and I am delighted with this colour. It matches tiles well and has a lovely calming effect on the walls.
Now need ideas for how to use all the testers I have as I was trying to choose a colour!

I would match either the colour of the tiles or the cupboards, possibly a darker shade, for the walls and live with it for a while. Kitchens are busy places with many 'accessories' around and I would hesitate to introduce another colour until I was really sure it would go.

I'd err on the side of neutral to enlarge your spacial perception. Either exactly same shade as tiles or cupboards. I wouldn't chop the effect up with yet another shade. Ultimately it's your preference though. Get loads of shade samples ,/pots paint onto A4 paper and blue tack on walls, the best shade for you should scream at you!!! Good luck!

I'd have the walls as close to the colour of the tiles as possible, then accessorise with a brighter contrasting colours for blinds, tea towels, kettle etc. You can then change the whole look of your kitchen just by changing the accessories.

How about Dulux marine splash tester, just to try, its a hot aquamarine!!!

I think I would choose a golden colour.

It’s a kind of soft brown that comes in 3 shades.

This is the sort of mushroomy colour I wondered about Sago

Elegran that's the way I do it - I paint three of four bits of card with the primer and sample pot and tape them up around the room. It's surprising the difference that lighting, sunshine and shade can make.

Make sure you stir sample pots as well as you would full size ones - I failed to do that once and the colour on my card was very different to the end result on the wall. Fortunately I liked the wall even better than the card

Won’t sage green clash with the tiles though?

Sage green would look nice if you like sage green!

I'd like to suggest Farrow and Ball Cabbage white You can get a sample to try. It looks a similar colour to your tiles but maybe ever so slightly darker. I always go with light colours for walls and then put darker/striking pictures on.

Crossed posts, *Mapleleaf. I prefer the cardboard way, because you can move them around to places where the light falls differently - and you don't have to paint over them. If the cardboard isn't white to start with, you really need two coats on it.

You can't judge from those tiddly squares on the colour charts. Get some sample pots, paint each of them onto a separate piece of thin cardboard (from a cereal packet?) and let them dry, then hold each in turn up against the wall and the tiles.

Whatever others suggest, you are the only one who can choose what appeals to you .

Buy some sample pots in the shades you are thinking of and paint these in different places on the walls you wish to paint to show them in different lights. This way, you might find the one that suits best. Good luck. Your kitchen looks lovely, by the way. ?

I meant if the wall colour was a bolder colour, not the units. Sorry.

You could also put a mirror or pictures a feature wall

I think that you should stick to the same porcelain colour as the units.

It depends on the size of your kitchen. My kitchen isn't very big doesn't have any vast expanses of empty wall so it is painted the same colour s the units (cream). If it was a different bolder colour it would break the kitchen up too much and look bitty. There would be strips of colour over the wall units on narrow bits of wall etc - hope that makes sense.

If you have one clear wall with no kitchen units on it I would paint that a darker aquamarine as a feature wall.

Dee1012 I've got Cornforth White, Ammonite and Pointing in my kitchen. Looks stylish and warm. Good combo.
