I have always used the JML ones. They are well padded and have an elastic border. Measure your board and pick the right size. Available widely and usually around 4.99.

I have bought covers from Lakeland and John Lewis. They don’t fall off!

I have a wooden ironing board and either hammer a few tacks in or put some string through a bodkin and lace them on from side to side like shoe laces.

My ironing board will be 57 years old in July. As someone above thread suggests, measure the board before shopping or ordering online. I use a padded cover which is elasticated. Fits perfectly. Made by MinkyIt would never occur to me to buy a new board when I need a new cover.

I've never had any problem with this and have only ever purchased run-of-the-mill covers from any supermarket or store I happen to be in when I remember. Probably even used Amazon at some time.

Curious, how often have you changed your cover? I've had the same cover (that slides around annoyingly) since I've owned the board - maybe 30 years.

You've inspired me to get a new cover.

I have a Brabantia ironing board and get new covers for it on eBay . Draw string around the edge and and a large rubber band hooks underneath to keep it perfectly in place .

Much prefer the elasticated covers to the drawstring type. Could never manage to keep the drawstring in one place so cover slipped constantly. Just make sure you get the right size.

I use these elasticated straps.

I find I frequently have to replace the cover. A few weeks ago I was ironing a shirt and it kept getting dirty. I had cleaned the iron and re-washed the shirt twice before I realised it was the ironing board cover that was making the shirt dirty.

I really don’t iron anymore, only very occasionally, is anyone else like that? Hence I don’t need a cover that regularly ?

I don't iron a lot. Just dress shirts which don't get worn a lot. All t-shirts are folded right after they come out of the dryer so they are wrinkle free. But my ironing board is very heavy, and the cover is always slipping which drives me nuts. Sometimes I will iron on my glass topped stove. I put a tea towel down first.

I have a minky elasticated one. I have to take it off after each use as the ironing board hangs on the utility room wall, and the cats shred the cover if I leave it on!
