No Tesco delivery slots for November

Although it seems odd to join then start criticising other posters especially as you know nothing about them or their circumstances.
My fridge freezer only holds so much
Other people's fridge freezers may hold even less.
Perhaps some people prefer to eat fresh food rather than slightly off food.

I do not live alone for a start. However I have a number of comorbidities, also am immunosuppressed and have been advised not to go to supermarkets by my doctors, neither does my my husband who was shielding with me.
I also include my daughter and SIL's shopping, as they need to stay safe, being the people who collect my prescriptions etc. and support my husband and I.
Add to the fact that I can't lift heavy bags ec, I rely on Tesco, even for fresh items like bread and milk.
I don't even know why I'm bothering to explain!

I also book weekly slots and will continue to do so without explanation

Just had a look on our site now, and there are plenty of slots for the 7th - 13th Nov which I suppose are only available so far to those with a delivery pass (maybe to who have priority too???).
In the weeks leading up to that, there was only one other day with slots available, which was 5th Nov.
Not a lot of use to any of you, I know, unless you happen to be in the same delivery region as me, but I know from experience that whole blocks of slots can randomly become available at any moment, so the only answer is to check frequently - that was the only way I could get slots throughout much of lockdown.

Those of you who have mentioned Christmas slots, how does that work? I had imagined that those dates would just come up gradually in due course just like those for the rest of the year. Is that not the case?

If a person lives alone how can they need a regular weekly Tesco delivery unless generously feeding everyone living around them? My fridge freezer only holds so much so is this once a week delivery what Tesco expect before they make slots available.I gave up trying and now book a local taxi to take me and pick me up when I NEED to restock not when Tesco tell me a weekly delivery is the only way I can get deliveries.

Does it not occur to you that trying to book a delivery in advance is because we know when we will be NEEDING to restock.

My son has already booked with Marks and Spencers for their Xmas food. They will go and collect it on Xmas Eve i assume. I am starting to buy extra bits every week for us. I'm worried there may be a lock down again .

I booked a Tesco slot yesterday for Weds 11th Nov.

Tesco is 13th Nov for Christmas slots.
It has just dawned on me that may be the reason

I don't think that they have released Christmas slots yet although Waitrose has.
Watch out in your emails, Marydoll as they may notify you about release dates.

Don't despair! It appears that they release more slots as time goes on.
I've been noticing that you can't book even a week ahead (Tesco, Morrisons, Ocado) but can book the next day.
They also seem to release evening slots first too.
They stagger them according to some algorithm or something
Just keep checking regularly.

Charliegirl I think that may be the problem. Others thinking there maybe a shortage in December. So ordering non perishables now

I have a pass and priority, but nothing!!

Thank you Marydoll I have booked for 3rd November. there were some other slots but I was not paying £6 or £7 for delivery.

I cannot remember how much I paid at the start of the year and I can have delivery on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at a cheaper price to others.

Marydoll at this rate there will be no Christmas slots.
