putting on a duvet cover

I tried this yesterday. It took me about twice as long as my usual method. I spent half the time turning the cover inside out!

Normally, I just sort of poke the corners of the quilt into the corners of the cover and pull the cover down. I have some duvet clips, like giant Klippits to put on the corners to hold them in place but I don't really need them.

Yes, Maddcow, exactly as I described upthread. It is so quick and easy, I don't really see any reason to try any other method.

Much easier/quicker method-turn cover inside out, put hands inside to top corners, grab duvet by two corners and shake cover down over duvet. Admittedly it helps that I'm quite tall so can hold the duvet up as the cover falls down, but it works in seconds. Extra tip, take off the cover & wash inside out so it's all ready to put on again.....used this method for years, even DS can manage it this way!

I do it as you do loopy, shaking it over the banisters on the landing to get it right into the cover.

I timed myself doing it by holding the top corners of the duvet, furtling up inside the duvet for the top corners of the cover then by holding the corners outside I give it a good shake and bingo! Took 1 minute 4 seconds including poppers.

I couldn't be bothered to keep going from one side to t'other personally- i look forward to hearing how GNs get on!

I've just tried this; half way through I thought 'blow this for a bag of chips' but persevered and, yes it does work although with a king size duvet it's a bit of an effort. Perhaps with practice it will become easier......

What I need is a way of doing it with a frozen shoulder and on a bed (small double) surrounded by walls on three sides. Shaking it is out of the question at the moment. . Putting on a duvet cover, that is

Just tried the method in the OP and it works! Even with my limited spatial skills and super king duvet. Not quite as nifty as the video and looks a bit unconvincing half way through, but keep going and it sorts itself out. Certainly much less palaver than anything else I've tried...

That's what I do Indinana. Seems easy to me.

It looks very clever, very neat. But what you don't see is the number of times she has to walk around the bed - first she's one side, then she's the other. Oh, now she's back on that side. And so on...
I use the inside out method - you know, cover inside out, reach inside for the furthest corners and whilst holding them, grab two corners of the duvet. Give it a shake and the cover turns outside out over the duvet. No walking backwards and forwards around the bed.

I have a wicker bedding basket at the end of my bed that spare pillows get thrown on.

I make a 'nest' of pillows which stems from the period after I had shoulder surgery and needed to make myself comfortable and stable overnight.

Well I never! I'll have to try that. It's better than the fight I have every week

Wow! I'll give that a go next time instead of disappearing a* * * e up inside the duvet cover! I too have extra pillows for propping up purposes - stems back to feeding the baby in bed days...

Now that's really confused me - the first time I watched it the video was showing the way I do it, now it's showing the rolling way. I don't do it that way!!

Our extra pillows and the throw are put on the stool under the window or, if I'm really tired, slung on the floor in an untidy heap.

I've always done it that way

I have some extra pillows that I use if sitting up in bed against the headboard and a couple that just decorative I just put them either in a pile on a chair or the headboard one goes beside the bed against the bedside cupboard when I lay me down to sleep that way I can grab it again in the morning to sit up and drink the lovely cuppa OH brings me.

That looks so easy. I thought that I had it down to a fine art with my king sized duvet cover but that method takes seconds. A pity that I have just finished changing my bedding and with luck I will not have forgotten by next week!

what I want to know... is what do you do with all those extra pillows and cushions etc, when you actually go to bed!?! Our DD2 is mad on house decoration- the spare room has a nice big king bed but the room is quite small- and there are 4 pillows and at least 4 cushions too- looks great but ....

Seen this on TV but haven't tried it
