Decorating living/dining room-any ideas for colour scheme please?

I've been sitting here today, thinking the same thing about my living room. It seems such a big undertaking though. Will watch this thread with interest. Did get colour schemes from deluxe colour brochures when we did the upstairs last year.

I have that similar colour well it is called duckegg but I would describe itas seagreen. - in wallpaper - Sanderson can't remember the name. But my tastes seem totally at odds with all the other grans so shouldn't take any notice of me.

Might be worth going on Pininterest and seeing all the different colour schemes. Always start with the curtains though. It's easier to match a wall to a fabric than the other way round. We recently went round a B&B that we want to stay at and that had all been decorated in Farrow and Ball and each room was stunning. Also check out the Great Interior Design Challenge series on utube for some great ideas. I'm still really keen on duck eggs [probably the same as teal] and greys; so relaxing. It's annoying that Dulux no longer have that facility on their website where you could design a room and check out how the colours go together.

Love Farrow and Ball colours my grandson took our choices on the F&B chart to a local shop and they mixed the colours to the exact shade but much cheaper ... take a look at the colours they have some wonderful names and it might give you some ideas .. we chose 'Mouse's Back' and a much lighter matching shade everyone compliments us on the colours...

How about a couple of pale teal shades with a grey/ taupe shade? A Farrow and Ball shade card could be a start. You don't have to buy their expensive paint, but find cheaper similar paint.

I agree, Red and oranges are very harsh colours and have to be chosen very carefully to get a good effect. It sounds like you will enjoy your new look. x
