Childhood leukaemia

My 3 year old grandson has just been diagnosed with type B Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. He is going to be treated at the Sutton Royal Marsden, being transferred there tomorrow from another hospital. I realise that this is the most common form of the illness with a very good recovery rate, this is backed up by plenty of internet research. But I’m still desperately worried and would welcome advice, information and other help - SPECIFICALLY from people who have a close preferably family connection with a child who has been through this traumatic time recently.

I will pray for him also, and send love and hugs to you ,they can do so much more now, but you still worry.

You must be so worried for your little GS and his parents. My friends GS was diagnosed with leukaemia age 6. That was 5 years ago he is now doing well in school and is a picture of health!

A great aunt here - my niece’s daughter was successfully treated at a young age and is now living a normal, very happy and successful life with a great future ahead of her. Was worrying at the time of her diagnosis and treatment though so I send you encouragement and every reason to keep positive.
