Hi all
SweetPeaSue- that’s a good suggestion for a book. Nothing twee about that tale. I like Stephen King and Anne Rice too- we,ve always liked a bit of,the supernatural . I have read all the Game of thrones Books too which is my favourite series of all time.
It does sound
Ike your Aunt is settling in A bit better- we always find it’s easier to leave our friend if there’s something going on.
Great idea to take Fluffball a chew stick for her coffee break! Pets can be so annoying over food though. Our boys often just look at their food and walk off as if it was poison.
Hope DH is doing OK.
HVDY- only a minute or two blow drying for my hair as it’s so fine. Yes thick hair must be lovely . All our GDs and daughters have lovely hair - I got left out.
It is so warm here today my glasses keep steaming up. We,ve just given the boys a cold lickie each. They really don’t like the heat.
What a nice meal at the day centre- my cup of tea too. Especially sponge and custard.
Hope you,ve had a nice lunch and chat with your friend at the Gatden Centre. Did you manage to leave without a purchase?
Doodle- our pharmacy is about 20 mins walk away - a bit longer now though as I don’t walk as fast. We,ll have to go tomorrow as it was M and S today. I had some T-shirts
to,pick up - they weren’t there either- after we got home I got a text to say they were in now😩
Your poor wrist but the good thing is it’s not painful. It,ll be as good as new next week.
Cake and Church go together eh!!
EllieAnne- I don’t find it easy to sit and do nothing either. You do some nice things. Your cross stitch is beautiful.
I can’t get on with Sudoko- numbers are not my thing. I like word games and enjoy trying to beat the computer at Scrabble.
Glad you have company tomorrow- try and relax and have a good natter.
Wyllow- Ha Ha we got the coffee in anyway- good old Costas.
Yes we watched the Footie live - such a footie family. I fell asleep though as I,m a lightweight now.
Wow what a great clothes find. The shirts sound lovely. I have a reddy orangy tent with low pockets. Its like going out in your nightie.
Hope you are enjoying your time with nice Ex. It must be such a lovely place to meet up.
Nadateturbe- thinking of you.
PurplePixie- how did your trip go?

Well tomorrow is my GD1 40th Birthday so there is a big friends and family get together for her . Her DH has arranged everything and she just knows she has to Glam up for the Evening. How time flies.

Hope the weekend is kind to all.

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 19-Jun-26 06:44:37

Thanks, Doodle The things we have, as women! I'd assumed my days of being examined down there were over. Glad it's all ok though. It's good that you haven't got any pain in your wrist. Can you use it alright?

HowVeryDareYou2 Fri 19-Jun-26 06:41:41

SweetpeaSue It's worth a try to have a few dog treats in your pocket when out with Fluffball. Son1's dog doesn't beg or whine, but they always have a few dog biscuits for her, so that she's included smile.

EllieAnne You do keep your mind active. I love that cross stitch "baby" one you're doing. Hope you have a good chat with your friend today.

Wyllow3 I give a lift to a man (then sit and chat with his wife for an hour when I take him home), and am very friendly with a couple there, although I know everyone there and talk to them all. You got some good buys yesterday. Just right for summer. Hope you have a nice lunch with your ex today, and a good old natter. I don't do Sudoku, but DH does.

Meeting my friend for lunch at our favourite garden centre. Hope everyone manages to have a decent day x

Wyllow3 Thu 18-Jun-26 23:29:57

Aw that is so cute! 😊 I also admire your doing Sudoku - I cant get my brain around it. Any other Sudoku BD's?

Thank you. I just checked out - MrA will be on the sex offenders register - it never dawned on me to check the law till now - and yet he was instigating people to accuse me of invention.

You cant make it up, can you?. If only ~I'd been well and on the ball enough to pick this up earlier - or Safeguarding should. Anyway I just emailed the HQ lady - not to broadcast it to all, unless necessary to prove to others. (Exit stage right to dry hair, quietly fuming)

EllieAnne Thu 18-Jun-26 22:38:27

Nearly finished

EllieAnne Thu 18-Jun-26 22:36:46

Wyllow I used to do kits but now mainly just do cards at Christmas and special events. I’m nearly finished a baby one for someone in my bible study group.
There is a cafe connected to my church in walking distance so I go there occasionally. If I am in town it’s usually Costa or one at the beach
I hope all goes well tomorrow.

Wyllow3 Thu 18-Jun-26 21:37:54

EllieAnne, I hope it goes well with the friend in Costa tomorrow.

Wyllow3 Thu 18-Jun-26 21:19:34

Nice pub lunch there yesterday, HVDY. And good food for hit weather cat the day centre. The games sounded fun. Have you a special friend there, or is it generally nice?

I hope the mugginess wasnt too tiring, Scardeycat. Frustrating! Another direction could have taken you for coffee.

Have you got a nice feathered and layered cut?
That footie game must have been quite something, I only saw bits, did you watch it live?

(Brother comes a week tomorrow)

Oh, how lovely, a woodland walk, Sweetpeasue, sort on for now it’s hotter. Oh dear, the costa Fluffball training still Clearly has a way to go. I haunt read Frankenstein, I think I’ve been put off by the “reputation” and silly film versions. That is one relief as regards the squirrel.

Aunt smiled -oh…and the happier wave - may it continue, it must have warmed your heart.

You certainly drew the short straw with the rain, Ellie Anne
I’m glad you got out to the cafe - do you go to the same one? Good work on the linen cupboard. Yes, I’d be holding back on the kitchen one….you do keep your mind active, don’t you? I’m genuinely impressed. Do you do the cross stitch kits, or make it up?

Ah, it’s all about the company, Doodle. Clearly not a judgmental or competitive group, which is good.
No reason you should like Balducci, I’d just wondered. Oh dear, your arm must be grim to look at…just so relieved it’s not hurting - they must’ve got it right, hopefully.

Need to know. -what was the cake?

I had a scone today, then walked just round the corner to a posh charity shop, what a haul! Two short sleeved lose linen mix blouses, one black, one white (both needed), and a cotton mix reddy orange dress, one of those fashionable tent things with pockets and enough blow the knee to be wearable.

I am relieved this meeting is coming up at last. I known it will produce a mix of feelings, but it will be very hard for them to turn my request down, for a number of reasons: its not and end, but a reset, as there will be some who are not happy - glad I dont have to take part. Tomorrow my first Ex-that-I-get-on- with is coming over for this and that, so we’ll meet for lunch at the Bot Gardens.

Not sure when I will hear the result.

have the best night you can BD's and remembering those not in or just reading. Are you back, PurplePixie? How did it go?

EllieAnne Thu 18-Jun-26 21:14:22

I read a lot, do cross stitch, croswords, sudoku, and various word games on I pad. I can’t sit and do nothing. Even when I’m watching Tv I have to be doing something else as well.
I am ,meeting a friend in Costa tomorrow.
My clothes could do with a sort out too. And the kitchen cupboards!

Sweetpeasue Thu 18-Jun-26 20:52:35

EllieAnne I know what you mean about rainy weather when its every day. Bound yo get you down, especially, when you need to get out of the house. Oh you've tidied your airing cupboard, thats pricked my conscience- I really need to tidy mine. Hope the weather tomorrow is a bit better.
HVDY Do you know , I should really have thought of that - about the chewstick. She's quite strange with her own kibble dog food and seems to prefer to eat like a human! If shes not had her breakfast kibble Ive given her scrambled egg and she loves that. I think the vet advised them to just give her dog food as they'd been giving her other stuff when she didnt eat it. Very hard when its someone else's dog .
Your chicken salad at the day centre would be up my street.

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 18-Jun-26 20:11:50

ScaredyCat I would have preferred a ladder examinationgrin. I think you meant bladder, but it was my cervix. All ok, anyway. Do you have your hair blow-dried? Mine is fine and flyaway, with a tendency to get frizzy. I'd love to have thick hair. How annoying that your prescriptions weren't ready. It's been warm and sunny here, and muggy.

Wyllow3 Your draft letter will have laid out the facts about it all, and I hope they appreciate and take notice of the way it has all affected you. Best of luck, hope they do what is fair and right.

SweetpeaSue These squirrels - what a good job you managed to avoid it. Yes, I'm glad not to need any more appointments or tests. When you are at a cafe with Fluffball, and she whines, would she settle down with a chew/biscuit or toy? Glad your aunt waved you off ok when you went and didn't get distressed. Keep distracting her and telling white lies. The carers sound good. They work long hours (12, I think), something I couldn't have done.

EllieAnne Hope the weather will pick up where you are. We had torrential rain last Thursday. People around our way are moaning about it being too warm (26 degrees today).

Nice day at the day centre - chicken salad and new potatoes, then sponge and custard. Various games- skittles, darts, blow football, shuffleboard, and quizzes. Hope everyone has been ok x

Doodle Thu 18-Jun-26 20:09:05

Scaredycat I don’t watch football but I gather it was a good game last night. Yes had a nice time at art but mostly because of the company rather than my talent 🤣 is it far to your pharmacy.? Ours is a 15 minute walk. Bit of a pain having to go back again tomorrow.
I must admit I read the ladder examination and was a bit puzzled as to what that involved. 🤣
Good job you mentioned your problems HvDY you’re right we do have a lot to put up with. Hope the treatment helps. Very unpleasant when you don’t feel right .
Wyllow yes I have tried David Balducci books when he first started publishing. I wasn’t as keen on them as some others. Maybe I should try again.
Wrist is fine actually thank you. Looks an absolute mess with blood and bruising all over my arm but it doesn’t actually hurt which is a plus, dressing off next week so hope they can clean it then. Right now I look like a bit of raw heat sealed meat so I cover it up.
Glad you’ve finished your final draft and hoe it gets your points across
Sweetpeasue I’m glad you had a pleasant visit with your aunt and could see that she was being looked after ok. It’s good for family and friends to visit people in homes. Keeps them on their toes. You read so many bad reports these days but some must be good.
Ellie Anne you must be so bored when the weather is bad. I really wish you had q hobby or something to do when it’s raining or cold.
I had a nice time at church. More cake !

EllieAnne Thu 18-Jun-26 18:32:16

It’s been heavy rain here today and it’s getting me down I’d planned to work in it today but not possible. So I sat in cafe for a while reading then tidied the linen cupboard. The forecast is not good for the next few days.

Sweetpeasue Thu 18-Jun-26 17:48:59

Wyllow Im sorry, my previous post was a bit premature about you having finished the draft . I really hope that it is received and given a full examination of all the facts and the way you have been treated throughout and how its left you niw. If you're truly happy with it ,and Im sure yku have written it eloquently and with all the detailed facts and consequences, I hope you can let your mind rest and know youve done absolutely all you can do. It sounds as if youve been very fair - which I hope all goes in your favour.
Its been warm today with a breeze and Im glad you managed to get out for that nice coffee. Just getting out of the house and watching people can make us feel better at times.
Scaredycat Oh dear- your pharmacy sounds a bit like ours! Yes, I thought the title was a little telling before I opened it. Ive put forward my next suggestion- Frankenstein- its a thoughtful book , not just like the films, so we'll see if its voted for. Just left Fluffball back home for my DIL to come home to. Had a little woodland walk with her this morning and cafe there. We went in and she did the same thing while were at the table, cringe!
Doodle I remember you weren't happy with your DHs foot in hospital. I know you did everything you could while your DH was there. Im afraid hospitals arent quite the places they used to be for older people. Of course its not the same for all but theres just not enough nurses and Drs- waiting for this, that and the other to be done .
Ive not read those authors you named though my DH used to like crime novels. Hes not in to reading at all at the moment, and to tell the truth ,Ive not been reading either ( apart from BC choices). Hope youve had a nice day today with friends.
HVDY Oh it must have been so good to wake up this morning without the examination hanging over you. Its been warm here though just started raining now. Glad we could take F out this morning. On the short drive there a baby squirrel ran out in front of us and just stopped there frozen- we braked and when I looked behind it wasnt there, phew!
Visited aunt this afternoon and sat in garden there - so difficult talking but managed . When we went inside we watched the staff having a game and some hilarity which made aunt and other residents smile. We took our leave in the midst while aunt was watching and she waved goodbye with no problem which is the first time thats happened. She still doesnt know where she is and earlier said she would come home with us.
EllieAnne Hope youve been OK today.

Hope everyone has a peaceful night.love to all and those not mentioned who arent in. X

Wyllow3 Thu 18-Jun-26 15:58:38

Draft finished after a long mornings work and am pretty happy with it, but not confident they can reach decisions tomorrow as there are pro MrA’s in that group who cannot see the big picture as they are friends. Yet they know the law, and our guidelines, and I have been far more clear than ever before about asking them to do their duty!
I don’t think I have ever had the courage before to take something like this so far.
I am sitting outside a cafe atm having escaped home and it’s not sunny but a warm breeze

And thinking how you ALl have supported me through this and am so so grateful xx

Back later

Scaredycat Thu 18-Jun-26 14:53:32

Sorry HVDY you didn’t have a ladder examination!!!!!!

Scaredycat Thu 18-Jun-26 14:51:57

Hi all
Doodle- I like the Harlen Coben dramas on TV so I expect I,d enjoy the books too.
Ah I,remember your poor DH foot troubles. It’s so upsetting when it’s actually the hospitals fault and I understand more how you must have felt then. But it does see. There’s no point in complaining as everything has changed so much.
Glad you had a nice day yesterday.
HVDY- what a good thing that you had that ladder examination and the Dr was vigilant.
Yes who,d be a woman when it comes to bits that go wrong😩
Your lunch must have gone down a treat afterwards
SweetPeaSue- even the title of that book sounds a bit twee- not my cup of tea.
It’s really muggy here today - we walked to the pharmacy this morning to pick up our, prescriptions - what a surprise!! They werent ready so we have to go again tomorrow.
Wyllow- try not to stress too much over that final draft. If you,ve been kind and fair without being a pushover all should be OK. You need your head to be free of all that worry.
Is your brother coming soon?
I,m pleased with my haircut. Would love thick hair like yours . Mine is fair, fine and the total opposite of my Sister who got the thick dark hair of our parents!,

Love to all - missing some of our friends who we haven’t heard from in ages.
Hope you all enjoyed the game last night- what a great win.

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 18-Jun-26 06:25:09

Wyllow3 Thanks. No, we went to a country pub where the food is all home-cooked (no microwave stuff). I had lasagne, he had beef stroganoff.

Hope you sorted out your final draft.

Wyllow3 Wed 17-Jun-26 23:20:34

HVDY I'm really glad it turned out to be as it was not something really nasty - and sorry you had to do that to get the end result!
But it must have been a real celebratory lunch..did you have curry?

Doodle - those are my go to thrillers too, have you tried David Balducci? Less gore than Cobden, more intelligent than Patterson. try the "Camel Club" series.
www.davidbaldacci.com/landing-page/david-baldacci-camel-club-series/

Jack Reacher/Lee Child of course is the go to hero who sorts all pretty finally and effectively!

what did you do at church, was it a group? and yes, how is your wrist?

I'm in the middle of trying to to write a final draft for Friday and really it's driving me crazy so will be glad to get it off, as trying to be fair/kind but assertive and clear.

Nigh night BD's

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 17-Jun-26 19:44:49

Doodle Thanks. I haven't had any symptoms. It was only when the nice GP examined me (a couple of weeks ago, when I went about my bladder) that I was referred. Don't we women have things to deal with grin. Glad you had a nice afternoon. How's your wrist now?

Doodle Wed 17-Jun-26 19:20:21

HVDY what a relief. I can understand the worry. Hope the treatment helps and you feel better soon. There are several threads on GN about vaginal atrophy if you want to know more.
How nice to celebrate with lunch out.
Sweetpeasue glad you went to book club but shame you’re not into the book. Would find it difficult to rest a book that held no interest for me. I read fiction mainly. Read a lot of Harlen Coben which I liked. Lee Child and James Patterson
Wyllow I do wish things at Quakers could be resolved soon. I don’t think all this hanging around is doing you any good.
Glad you managed to get out and walk a bit. I was reading about your gardener and your garden and remembering back to when you were so stressed about the garden and we were trying to talk you into having something done so you could sit out in it. You’ve come a long way since then
Scaredycat like your sisters leg, the problem with my DH’s foot was caused by the hospital. I have often thought of complains but to be honest I don’t think they really care, Hope your sisters leg improves soon.
I have a friend who has two house cats. I saw then Sunday, very tiny and very soft, a bit like miniature Siamese but with cotton wool as fur.
Ellie Anne could you pay someone to trim down your bushes if your Dh won’t do it. I think he could get a taxi back too. It’s not fair on you to have to drive him back and go to your sons.
Church for me today then coffe with friends this afternoon. Very nice.

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 17-Jun-26 18:36:33

Thanks, both.

Sweetpeasue Wed 17-Jun-26 17:53:43

Book by E.M.Delafield. Grrr.

Sweetpeasue Wed 17-Jun-26 17:52:25

So glad its over with for you* HVDY*
Great news. You must have looked forward to the treat of lunch out afterwards.
Our book at present is 'Diary of a Provincial Lady' by E.M. Detailed. Slightly amusing but too twee by half!

Scaredycat Wed 17-Jun-26 17:09:51

Great news HVDY- so pleased it’s over and no bad newsxx
