Inhalation sedation for Dental extraction.

Had plenty of it during the birth of my two children and also when I dislocated my thumb wonderful stuff makes you high as a kite
It will relax you obviously they won't use it for pain relief the local anaesthetic will take care of that.
I was a nervous dental patient but have an excellent dentist who can administer local anaesthetic without me even feeling it. I have had numerous filings,root fillings and extractions without feeling anything the only scary bit is his bill.
The gas and air will work on your anxiety if you relax and go with it and take plenty of deep inhalations.
The thought is far worse than the actual experience.

I have suffered Dental Anxiety since childhood in Poland, and have yet to meet a Dentist who can erase the awful memories of 1950's Dental Surgery.

I had 50's dental 'care' in Glasgow in the 50's. Nightmare! Left with severe dental treatment anxiety. What I do know is that Nitrous Oxide and a sedative tablet will do the job. My experiences with NO during childbirth was amazing - sedatives not even necessary as I was 'flying'! I have a great dentist now who is very gentle and caring and gives regard to my lived experience previously.

I had nitrous for an extraction when my anxiety was through the roof and it worked well enough to keep me calm. You stay aware, but your body feels lighter and the panic switches off which makes the whole thing easier to handle. The numbing did the heavy lifting for pain, and the nitrous helped me stay steady until it was done.
