Poor you. I remember how stressed I was a few years ago when I was having various tests for a post menopausal bleed. I think if they thought it was something really bad they’d be fast tracking you. It’s good that they’re being so thorough, though. x

I have had blood in my urine (microscopic - cant see anything) for donkeys years.

Apparently it is not uncommon and in my case must mean nothing as 40 years later I’m still here!

A benign tumour is just that. You already have a rare tumour, which can, but rarely, become not so benign, but multiply rarely by rarely and the chances that this tumour is anything but benign are so etrememly rare, that you ould have to be very very unlucky for it to become so, so relax.

Luck is going your way. It has been found quickly and, without doing a cancer rush, they are seeing you promptly and you are getting all the tests.

I can understand your initial worries, but I think that you can now just let the doctors deal with it and I hope you are soon recovered.

So far you sound as if you ve had a lot of tests and checks so I think you should feel better that they are looking at everything although it’s really scary and I understand totally having been through a very rare cancer two years ago but they do seem to be on your case you haven’t been forgotten and I wish you every good luck and you can soon put it all behind you

It is good that the medics are on your case and doing all the tests and following up.
I had a haemangioma on my tongue ... of all places! .... it was very small but as it was tapping into a teeny artery it had to be removed as it kept bleeding. Entirely benign .... just a bleeding nuisance!

Sikipoo I Google things I'm unsure about and Googled haemangioma on the kidney. As you've already been told, it's a benign (non-cancerous) tumour and doesn't usually need any treatment.

I've got a benign brain tumour and was terrified, initially, but understand more now.

I have several large haemangiomas on my liver, diagnosed years ago, and they don't bother me at all.

The consultant who first spotted them told me "I'm giving you this information so that if they are found in future medical checkups, it won't send you into overdrive. They are benign".

I have a meningioma in my brain. Found during a MRI scan for something else. I was told, and confirmed that they rarely cause harm and most people with them die without ever knowing they had one. Shortly after I was diagnosed a friend had a simialr diagnosis.

My only concern, is that I was assured that this tumour would be monitored, and I have heard nothing from the hospital. I haven't chased them because we have been hoping to move for the past year and I was going to follow it up when we got to ournew location.

I too apparently have a cyst (probably benign) on one of my kidneys. Had a CT scan of my lungs in November and the consultant who saw me straight afterwards said “good news, you don’t have a dvt in your lung so you can fly tomorrow on your holiday. As an aside your kidneys showed up and showed a cyst on one. I’m only telling you about it because you’ll see it reported on the NHS app. But I have one too. Don’t worry about it”.
So I’m not.

MOnica Mine is the same - a meningioma on my petrous ridge. It was discovered after I'd had a stroke 3 years ago. Had 2 follow-up MRIs since, the last one being a year ago. Unless you've got any symptoms of dizziness, headaches, vision problems, etc., it's unlikely to be causing a problem. Could you perhaps ring the hospital and ask about it being monitored?

HowVeryDareYou2. I ditto, but I went to bed one night, got up to go to the loo, and nearly fell because of severe dizziness. Luckily, I have been on an OPD waiting list for nearly a year, so I will be seen next week. I cannot get out of my front door, so be warned.

Charleygirl5 You've got the same type of tumour? It sounds as though perhaps yours has either grown or is pressing on something. I wish you the very best of luck in getting something done.

Thank you for that. Unfortunately the symptoms of the meningioma are much the same as ones that can be caused by a back problem.
