Covid booster

I booked the flu jab at my doctors only to find they were also offering Covid at the same time when I arrived. I had both, in different arms, and felt fine afterwards apart from the usual sore arm I expected from the Covid jab, although even that wasn’t as bad as last time. However, a couple of friends both felt under the weather after their flu jabs.

I had mine separately. The GP surgery offered me both, but I declined. I'm not supposed to have injections in my left arm and I didn't want them in the same arm, so I had my flu jab five days later at the local pharmacy. Both caused a slightly sore arm, but no other problems.

Go to chemist if you want flu and covid separate- that’s what we do.

No effects not even a sore arm.

I had my covid and flu together yesterday. I was so ill last night, freezing cold and shaking. Just now I decided to check which covid vaccine I had. It was Moderna. I've always had Pfizer until yesterday with no adverse effects whatsoever. I'm wondering now.....

I’m currently suffering the after effects of the flu vaccine. Painful arm, endless sneezing, sore throat, headache. I wonder if I caught Covid at the docs? Although when I actually had Covid, I was lucky it was an inconvenience, rather than being ill.

There's a really nasty cold and cough doing the rounds, we're suffering.
Tested for Covid but it was negative.

My husband is vulnerable so has more Covid jabs than most, I asked to have mine at the same time as him last year but no, I was a month too early apparently. I caught Covid before the month was out and was really poorly.
This year I've had both at once, no problem with the Covid arm but the flu arm is still pink and itchy four days later.

I always seem to get Covid a week after my jab!

for the first time I have NOT had a reaction, and I had double whammy, flu and COVID together, was dreading after effects but was fine!

DH and I had both yesterday, very sore arms but nothing else.

My cousin and her husband (just coming up to 60) have had Covid for the second or third time and been very poorly despite the jabs, she suffered from Long Covid last time which really knocked her out!

I go to my local pharmacy each time. I had my Covid jab last Friday and because of no ill effects, I had my flu jab on Monday and again fine. I have had 9 Covid jabs and I have never missed a flu jab.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. I'm starting to feel better now. I'm glad I had the booster as I wouldn't want the real thing.
I did get covid a couple of years ago after the vaccine and it was just like a mild cold.

It’s ok, Biscuitmuncher, those of us who are having the vaccinations should have less severe attacks, if we get covid or flu, so should be less likely to infect you. We do it so uou don’t have to

I had my Covid jab 2 weeks ago and have got the Flu one tomorrow.

My surgery have got an onscreen message on their website saying they have been inundated with patients wanting the Covid booster because there is so much of it about, so there are no more appointments available until mid- November.

I know so many people who've had Covid in the last month, many of them having brought it back from their holidays. Two friends have had Long Covid for 3 years or more.

I've never had any of them, I don't think they're worth the risk. Never had COVID either and I was out all through the pandemic

We had our flu jabs at the GP's but booked our covid jabs online.

Haven't had the booster yet as it's only a few weeks on from having Covid. I refuse to have flu and Covid vaccines at the same time but the receptionist at the surgery says it's not possible to have them separately - both together or nothing.

What happened to patient choice?

I have had my flu jab beginning of the month, and should have my Covid booster on Friday both at local pharmacy due to my GP surgery only offering both together.

It’s worth enquiring at your local pharmacy, I know Boots offer them separately.

Early this year we managed to have the last two flu vaccines at our helpful local chemists after being told by the surgery they weren't doing them any more.

I cannot decide what to do whether to have the covid vaccine and flu separately or together or just have the flu vaccine and not the covid one as I have always reacted badly to that one🤷‍♀️. DH had his together last week and no ill effects. I know lots of friends are not having covid this time but are we then going to run into big problems again. I’m recovering from eye surgery at mo so housebound and will make a decision when I’m on my feet again.

I had mine yesterday and woke up with cracking headache. I have had an upset stomach and I am now sitting under my heated throw, shivering.

Talked to a friend this morning who was awake all night with shooting pains in her head.

We have both decided that this is marginally better than having covid.
