Flu & Covid jab together?!

I was invited to take part in a clinical trial in 2021 to see if the Covid and flu jabs could be taken together. I had to record medical facts each day but had no adverse reaction at all. Best part of all was that I was paid to attend!

I've been this morning for both and have had it done several times before.

I had mine about 20 minutes apart on Wednesday as I had to have the Covid in the surgery and the flu in the chemist which is part of the surgery! No idea why. My husband had his done at the same time and same way. Only difference was he had one in each arm I had both of mine in my right arm. He was kept awake by tender arms whereas I wasn't.

Three days on no problems for either of us.

Think it’s best to have them separately if possible. Already have cold so just having Covid today with flu one from pharmacy in a couple of weeks.
Last time I got a frozen shoulder after the needle was put in too high up my arm. Needed physio for a few sessions afterwards.

I just had both together on Wednesday, no problems

Take a couple of paracetamol beforehand. I was told to do it by a nurse. No problems x

Another one who flu and covid jabs together a week ago. This time I was surprised when they asked me if I wanted them both in the same arm. I declined so ended up with two sore arms, rather than one and consequently found it difficult to get comfortable in bed but the soreness had worn off a lot by the morning.

Had the over 65s flu jab Thursday in left arm and Moderna vaccine in right arm. The latter was painful overnight and inflamed and hot to touch..didn’t sleep well at all. Now it’s day 2 and still inflamed and warm to touch but also have had a headache and feel crap… I didn’t have these reactions with Astra Zenica so will be prepared next year- GP surgery offering pneumonia jab - think I will wait couple of weeks..
I was asked before the Moderna jab if I had an egg allergy- I don’t- did not get asked this last time- hmm interesting!

I had my flu jab last Sunday and Covid on Monday pm. Went to Spain on Tuesday and have had flu like symptoms, tiredness and a cough. Not sure if it was from them but I have never had any problems before..I'm hoping it will be gone by the time I go home on Tuesday.

Had them together previously and booked in tomorrow to have the double injections again, so far no bad reactions 🤞🏻

Everybody is different but On advice from the vet, we've always had ours at least a week apart.

Yes, I trust the, now retired vet (how dare he!!!) He always said it was a lot for the immune system to take at one go, one of the reasons whenever the dog needed her booster, we would always go a 2nd time to the vets a week later after our monthly appointment.

My husband had both together last year and this years a few days ago no side effects other than one arm ached few hours
I’ve not had both together yet.
only problem I’ve had was with the shingles jab, next day had about 6 hives one on face others on body, I’m still getting them on and off just the odd one or two, they itch like mad, now about to see dr about this as never had hives before? wish I hadn’t had that one… 😦

My covid jab last year, I reckon they changed the needle size as couldn't feel it.

Dad's had his RSV? jab as he's hit 80 and he's come down with chills, raging cold and vertigo! He's not pleased and GP has given him pills for the vertigo. Every year he has side effects to Covid jab and flu jab because he insists on having them at same time to save time!

Always have mine together and in the same arm,felt abit off colour for 24 hours, and had a sore arm for a day or two,but a week later I am fine

I had mine on Tuesday. I was a little apprehensive as I'd had my first case of covid a couple of weeks earlier and had been rather poorly. Apart from sore arms and a dreadful headache for a couple of days it was fine.

One in each arm last week ! No issues but was a bit tired on the next day!!

Last year DH & I had both these vaccinations at same time, with no problems. Earlier today had the same; we are feeling OK, thus far.

My surgery don’t do them together? Covid bookings not being taken until end of October?
Next is the RSV one?

Had my Covid jab three days ago in the morning and then slept for three hours that afternoon. I was still sleepy the next day and kept falling asleep whenever I sat down. My arm was really aching and swelled up into a hard, red lump about three inches across, and it has now become really itchy.
This morning I had my flu vaccine, in the other arm. No side effects yet.

Always have mine together, and in the same arm. Apparently, as long as they're done about 2cm apart, it's fine to do it.

However, the Covid jab was Pfizer which I can tolerate with no effects. When I had Moderna I felt quite ill the next day. I think everyone has a slightly different level of tolerance

I've had all the vaccines I can (hubby is "vulnerable" after kidney transplant) but have still had Covid 4 times and after a bout last August, still have excess mucus and blocked nose in the mornings over a year later. I always react really badly to the vaccines too (separately or together!) so am in a quandary now. Have booked, but may chicken out!
The last reaction to the vaccines was actually worse than one of the Covid attacks I had! What to do...?

I had them both together a week ago. The nurse recommended having them in the same arm unless you sleep on your back. I couldn’t sleep on that side for a few days but no other side effects at all.
The shingles jabs were worse in terms of a sore arm which was much sorer for a longer time. But those injections took longer to do so presumably more in them.

The problem having them together is that if you have a reaction you have no idea which one is the problem. I live in France and both my GP and pharmacy recommend them separately exactly for that reason

I had flu and covid together on Monday and have felt really ill ever since. Really sore throat, stomach upset and feel generally unwell. I was fine when I went for the jabs. Haven’t had a sore throat for ages and this one is really bad paracetamol and hot drinks aren’t making it any better,

That is the thing striking me - as in no-one is ever going to get me to have either of those jabs for sure. But for someone who does decide to have both and then felt ill afterwards = how would you know which jab was the culprit out of the two? At the least - have them separately and then you can identify which one it was that did that.
