It’s a horrible injury I fell off the Hitchens step. I could not manage crutches at the Time, being overweight then. I eventually bought a cheap wheelchair, my Dah was cast unwillingly at first as my carer but then got into the role! It took a while to heal and the orthopods wanted to operate several times but I refused. I was in a cast for some months, then a boot, but it remained quite swollen and bruised. But time heals all wounds and after a couple of months, with the aid of physio the ankle healed. I was around 45 at the time. Physio was a great help. Touch wood I never got arthritis in the ankle despite being told it was inevitable, though have arthritis in other places. Now 69. Hang in there!
