AV node ablation, any experience?

Rafichagran thanks for replying. DD has SVT, started on her 7th birthday but she manages it with vagal maneuvers and so far she's not needed an ablation but she gets a resting HR of 220bpm several times a month, which is quite unpleasant. Pleased yours has worked, it generally has a very high success rate. I went in for an ablation but unfortunately my flutter is right sided which needed a different set up so I had a cardioversion instead which worked for two years. An AV node ablation will completely remove my own heart beat, so it's a big step hence I'd love to know of people's experiences.

I had a ablation for superventricular tachycardia. Mine was fully successful, I was under sedation, it did not hurt and was over quickly.
It was a joy for me not to have those terrible palpitations. Try not to worry.

Despite being on 7.5mg of bisoprolol am and pm, my atrial flutter has become both flutter and fibulation, I'm very tired, heart rate is still too fast and tbh I'm rather fed up. I saw cardiac consultant last week and he's put me on the list for an AV node ablation (8 month wait-list) and digoxin + lower dose of bisoprolol which hopefully will slow my heart down and give me fewer side effects. I'm normally really active for my age, generally very fit so I'm struggling with this tiredness and lethargy. I'd love to hear from anyone who has had this type of ablation. I already have a pacemaker to stop my HR dropping too low but after the ablation I'll obviously be totally dependent on it for a beating heart. Is there anyone out there who has had one?
