I see this on my own face in certain lights- I also see it on the faces of my friends. Sometimes I give myself a little shave but most of the time it doesn't bother me!
I avoid looking in mirrors and just inflict my old crone look on other people and then it's their problem lol!
However, it was a family wedding I might seek some advice, but sorry can't offer any.

you could maybe book an appointment at one of the places that does hair and make up and they might be able to give you some help about facial hair, i use a lady bic on my chin but don't bother with the rest of my face, i also don't wear make up, i did go to a wedding years ago and just used powder and some eye shadow, you could buy some powder, eye shadow and lipstick and try them out at home. i hope you enjoy the wedding.

I wouldn’t shave. Have it threaded. A bit eye watering to start but it’s over fairly quickly.

Talking about eye-watering I just tried to pluck hairs growing from nose I think Labour was easier 😱

A lady I knew via work from (?) Portugal (I think) used a cigarette lighter flame - it was waved close-to but not on the skin and was instant and effective.
It works on the fluffy hairs particularly well - but don't get too adventurous near your eyelashes and eyebrows! 😯

I would not shave the hair on your cheeks. You say they are fine; are they also fair? If they are, they will probably not be noticed. If they are dark, use a bleach like Jolen (other brands are available) to lighten them. Either pluck the hairs on your chin in one quick movement or remove them with a facial hair remover.

No it does not grow back thicker, this is a myth.

Oh heavens don't shave it will come back stubbly and get worse and worse each time you shave. Please treat yourself to a salon wax or threading.

I use a facial epilator. I bought it in Boots or you could look on the Argos website. About £20. It’s really effective and takes seconds to remove facial hair. I use it once or twice a week. It’s nice to make an effort for a special occasion.

I bought some plastic facial hair removers ( not sure of exact name) but I’m frightened to try. I’ve always had a lot of fine blonde fuzz on my cheeks etc but I’m petrified it’ll come back much stronger! Anyone any advice?

Hair doesn't grow back stronger - apparently this is a myth as Sago says. What it does do is grow back blunter as it takes time for the exposed end to experience the wear and tear of everyday life. This is why if you chop off split-ends the hair immediately feels thicker. Clearly it isn't, it's just without the worn-off bits.

Definitely don't use powder! It will sit on the fine hairs and exaggerate them. Even if you have shaved/waxed/plucked/threaded there are bound to be a few sprouting somewhere

I haven't been to a beautician for decades I am not sure how to find one who would know how to treat a wrinkly old face, apart from a cleanse and a facial. I would love to know what the best way to do make up would be.

I think I'll look on YouTube for some makeup lessons for mature ladies

For facial hair, you can use a razor, epilator, wax or chemical hair remover cream. If you are not confident, then go to a salon for advice. I would do it at least 3 days before the event, so you don't have redness.

As for make up, yes, youtube has lots of good videos. Some might be more complicated than you need. For basics, try a tinted moisturizer, mascara and lipstick. Maybe buy these now and get used to them, then add eyeliner, rouge and eyebrow pencil if you want to get a bit more.

I pluck with tweezers the ones that I see on my chin and under my chin that get bristly but ignore the fine blond ones. If you visit one of the make up counters in John Lewis or Boots they are really helpful with advice on make up. Bare minerals is lovely to use and Estée Lauder.

Can you give yourself a treat and have those pesky hairs permanently lasered off ?
If not , then pluck away and on the day of the wedding apply some Veet to melt away any remaining -providing it doesn't give you a rash !
I notice that so many of my friends have hairs , which show up particularly in bright sunshine .
I don't like to say anything after all I don't like being reminded that I'm fat !
I don't have any hair on my face , arms or legs , because I've spent years epilating them so that they just don't grow anymore .
I'm thinking of having my armpits lasered .

Have some fun in Boots having some complimentary make up sessions and don't commit yourself too quickly .
Maybe a light dusting of Bare Minerals on your face would not be heavy .
After I apply my make up , I always let it rest whilst I have a tea then - tissue off any excess and tidy up under the eyes with a cotton bud and reapply my lipstick .

I haven't bought any of Trinny's products , but friends have and they look as healthy and glowing as she does .
Always have a few trial experiments with make up and hair before the big day .
I've got an occasion in mid May and I've bought a warm dress and ordered one in case it's warm .

I'll dye my hair at least three hair washes before or it will look too much .

Go and have it removed by threading. Take a couple of paracetamols before the appointment.

You really do not need expensive gadgets or chemicals, just a decent pair of tweezers and a magnifying mirror. I check for stray hairs every day and remove.
