Doodle Thankyou for posting when things are so bad.
I've tried to write the best words but seem to fail and delete my sentences.
The hospital will be able to identify the infection and find the best treatment ,unlike what is available at home. Take heart and know , with your own invaluable care , your DH is looked after. I' m sorry if I've said the wrong words. Do try and rest yourself for both your sakes. You are doing your very best and never forget that. X

Nadateturbe You've done brilliantly to get your hair trimmed. Don't underestimate the smaller things. They are huge things for someone with your illness. I too am hoping tomorrow is better for you.

Doodle has your husband's infection been called MDR( multi drug resistant) ? I don't know if they have tried these on your husband. A friend in my HPX group lives in America she had 2 bad falls and caused a large wound to get one knee . Been in and out of hospital because the infection was MDR. I don't know if these antibiotics have been tried on your husband but they finally managed to fight her infection and she's home hopefully after a 10 day course of antibiotics will be infection free after months of having one.

They are
Daptomycin and Ceftriaxone. I know the first one was via drip but she didn't say if the second one was.

No idea if he's had them or can but thought I would just mention them just in case .

It is very frightening when the person who you love the most is in pain and no matter what you do you can't help take it away. Plus being ill yourself costs you your own health . But you concentrate on them that's why it's important you look after yourself as you need to keep as healthy as you can for the both of you . 🌹

Doodle What a very worrying time for you and your husband. I hope the doctors will quickly get to the bottom of the infection and that the new antibiotics take hold very soon. You must be exhausted. Please take care of yourself. We're all thinking of you. x

I slept much better last night, thankfully. I hope ALL BDers had a decent night. It's a bright morning. Love to all x

DH feeling bit better today. Will probably be still here till Monday when we get more news.

Whiff DH seems to be having different infections. He’s on penicillin intravenous at the moment.
Seems a bit better in himself but desperately wanting to come home.

Sweetpeasue are you keeping a pain diary so you can tell the PM team how you’ve been.
Scaredycat you are right about keeping walking. Make the veins in your legs keep working and keep oxygen levels up.

Doodle- thank you for posting when you re going through such a difficult time. I do hope DH can go home soon - he must be longing for the peace and quiet of home and just to be with you. Maybe to sit and watch the river too. I,m glad he is feeling a bit better- do look after yourself too.

SweetPeaSue- I hope you have been able to get out sometime over this weekend. It’s freezing cold here today- we went for a walk looking like 2 Michelin men!!
Nadateturbe- I agree with SPS- you achieve a great deal whilst managing your illness- you do things that are easy for people without a problem but that require a huge effort from you. Be proud of yourself. I love the feeling of lightness after a haircut don’t you.

We took the tree down yesterday - I felt sad - the lights are so cheerful . Back to candles again.

Thank you for reminding me how important walking is.
I think a haircut makes you feel better, worth the effort, and it was an effort.
But the important thing is to look after your health while caring for your dear husband.
I'm actually feeling ok at the minute, which is very welcome. Had a coffee with husband and his son in a pub before they went to the cinema. They had these huge burgers which would feed me for days! Plus chips.How do people eat so much?

We do need to wrap up well right now. It's 4° here. My scarf gets wrapped round my face. I'm sure it looks strange but I don't care. Getting our walk is important.

I didn't mind taking the tree down, but candles are lovely. I lit one on the hearth today and the room looked so cosy. And smelt nice too.

Thank you everyone. There’s been a lot of tension in the house over the last few days and my bp was quite high so am trying to keep things calm. The problem is that I act the way I do because I’m desperately unhappy but he is totally unaware of that so doesn’t understand why I can’t be in the same room unless there is a distraction like tv.
I just feel myself getting tense and my heart racing.
Anyway things start up this week so I’ll be out more.
I hope your husband gets home soon doodle . He’ll feel so much better at home.
Church was challenging and very long today. I lose the thread if it’s too long.
I ve been for a walk on the beach this afternoon. It’s cold and frosty here.

Doodle Your husband will be glad to get home to you, his own bed and familiar surroundings. there is no rest in hospital. Nurses, carers, doctors, cleaners, catering assistants, all in and out throughout the day. I hope he'll be home soon.

ScaredyCat The family are well, thanks. Son1, his girls, his GF and her son have been here for lunch (DH did roast beef etc) then we went to the local for a couple of drinks. They've just gone. How is your family?

nadateturbe Nice that you saw your son and GS. What have they gone to see? I haven't been to the cinema for about 3 or 4 years - the last film I saw was "Joker".

Mom3 My dad used to like Don Williams, and Dolly Parton as well.

EllieAnne Is your husband as unhappy as you are? It must be nice to be near a beach. It's been 3 degrees here today.

I'm feeling much happier, knowing I haven't got to do the jury service. I'm going to have some fresh fruit salad, then have a quick shower, and settle down with a glass of wine and

HVDY It was my husband and his son I had coffee with. They were going to see Ferrari. They last saw Oppenheimer. Not films I would be interested in. The last film I saw was The Miracle Club, I love Maggie Smith. We're going to see One Life soon. Our cinema has recliner seats which is great.
To be honest, I think I would have enjoyed coffee at home better. Their conversation about all the dismal news here and in US was boring and depressing. Thankfully it was short.

Ellieanne It really isn't good for you to live like that. How does your husband not realise? I do wish there was another way for you. Maybe try some meditation a couple of times a day, its good for blood pressure, and stress. Just a few minutes helps.
I know what you mean about church. I hate sermons that go on for ages. There's really no need. And it's counterrproductive.
I too will be glad when classes start up again. I'm so bored. And need company. And I can't wait for Spring. I'm sure you feel the same. Although I don't like to "wish my life away".

nadateturbe So sorry, I hadn't read it properly (I blame the wine ). Not a film I'd fancy, either. I try not to watch the news (I read it online, daily but not all of it), it's so miserable.

Doodle It's good your DH seems 'better in himself' as keeping his spirits up will help him improve physical health, but it's such a tall order when he's been ,and is going through so much. You and his family will be the best tonic , I should think , and getting home to be with you. It's scary when you need to be well for each other and I hope you are keeping yourself rested as much as you can.It will be so difficult for you with the travelling back and forth and sitting in those bedside chairs.
Nadateturbe Glad you're a little better and could go for coffee with DH and his son. I know what you mean about the news. It is very depressing at the moment. Just seen Anthony Hopkins talking about his role in One Life. Brilliant actor isn't he?

EllieAnne Your life at home seems so terrible, I can't imagine how bad it actually is to not feel relaxed in your own home. It's amazing if your husband doesn't notice or want to notice. I wish I could say something to help.You will be glad the weekend is over, but it's no way to live. Hope you can distract yourself with something on TV tonight.
* Scaredycat * You made me smile about your walking clothes. My Dh and myself can look like that but as you say, who cares as long as you're warm. I have an old scarf that belonged to my dad and it is wool and guaranteed to be warm when it's icy. I hate the wind though. My DH took tree down on the 2nd and I was so grateful-he even packed away the decorations. I wasn't looking forward to it but like you we have some candles-just plain ones, but gives a lovely glow.
Whiff Kind of you and helpful to mention the different antibiotics to Doodle . Hope you are managing OK. You have so much courage.
