Thank you all of you who posted helpful responses. I will mull over and take action. Right now I’m down with a virus (caught from husband) but look forward to New Year new beginnings.

*Charly/Crystal46*, you seem to have two accounts which is against GN rules.
Not intentional - old iPad broke a few years ago and I lost a lot of passwords and had to start again. If it’s a big problem for you you’d better report me, but I’m not doing any harm.

Interesting article my only comment would be that traits that I just think of as me are listed bad habits that need fixing
Perhaps it’s the level that’s relevant

Have your B12 checked. I felt absolutely rubbish and during a routine blood test for something else my B12 was shown as extremely low. I had 6 loading injections over 2 weeks and now have an injection every 12 weeks. I feel much better x
I found this article that I think could be of interest: rub-md.com/8-hard-habits-to-break/. Hope it helps
Musicgirl that's so funny. I watched a bit of naked attraction once. All I could think was how does a man shave his you know what's . Then I laughed about what my late husband would have said about that. 🤣

Hi Mollygo, ask you GP for a change of BP medication, it can take a while to find one that suits.
Good idea-this is only the second type, but they insist on trying it for at least a month before they’ll change it.

Musicgirl, thanks for that!🤣🤣🤣
Re your tiredness, Charley, I don’t know, but there’s good suggestions on here. My tiredness started since I’ve been on BP medication. Before that I was full of energy. Don’t know what the solution for that is.
@Whiff, a year or two ago, my husband and daughter had gone out for the evening and I was watching the TV. I nodded off and woke up when they came back. My daughter asked me what I thought l was watching and my bleary reply was Bargain Hunt. This was when I got the “Muuum, it’s Naked Attraction.” I gave Usain Bolt a run for his money with the speed at which I switched off that TV.
Some conditions and feelings are a bit inevitable when we get older, but we don’t have to just accept it, especially clinical depression! Please go to your GP and take a list of all your symptoms, good luck x
If you've had covid this could be a result of that.. post viral tiredness is quite common..
Thank you so much to all who have helpfully replied.
Merlo Streep abd Grandma Batty, I was born with hypothyroidism, untreated until I was a year old. I have been on thyroxine meds all my life since, but I do wonder sometimes how effective the levothyroxine still is, even though the blood tests I have had every year at my local surgeries, wherever I’ve lived, have always shown up as ‘normal’.
I’ll look into this some more.
Aveline, I’m quite sure I get depressed because I get tired but I’ll keep the reversal in mind, just in case.
Whiff, you’ve recommended a lot, for which I’m grateful. A nap might be more advisable nowadays, but I do take.Magnesium Plus pills anyway. I’ll look into the other recommendations you made. I know what it’s like to go to sleep on the sofa and awaken to another film!
Oldfrill, there’s Vit D3 in my Magnesium Plus pills and I eat salmon once a week. Not sure it’s enough still though.
Merry Christmas all!
Charly like others have touched on. You need to have a complete blood test including a fasting cholesterol test as that gives better results than a non fasting one. If you don't already take any vitamins etc can I suggest you take calcium, vitD and vit K combined tablet,B12,cod liver oil capsule, folic acid and vit C . I have been taking calcium Vit D and vit K since I was 50 and told at my first mammogram to take them. I stopped eating meat 2 years ago but eat chicken, fish and Quorn so take vit B12 ,folic acid because a blood test showed mine was low. Cod liver helps with my joints as I have a rare hereditary neurological condition which effects my limbs. And vit C just to help my immune system.
As we get older we do tend to get tired. I can have a good night's sleep but still need a nap some days. I am 65. This might make you smile. Few months ago I thought I would stay up and watch a film that started at 9 . When I woke up I thought the sound had gone on my TV then realised it was a different film The quite place with Emily Blunt. Had to check another channel to make sure it had sound. I must have fallen asleep as soon as the film started . I am lucky if I can stay awake until 9.30.
Just accept it but make sure you have the blood test.
Check Vitamin D

Have your B12 and Thyroid checked out.
A word of advice. If it turns out to be B12 you will be put on X 3 monthly injections.
My original Dr realised that I need injections X2 monthly. My next Dr wanted to change them to X 3 monthly. I got what my body needed X 2 monthly. 😉
Underactive thyroid can cause both extreme tiredness and low mood. I think you need to have a chat with your doctor - if possible
Clinical depression can present as tiredness. Could you discuss this with your GP? Are you sleeping OK? How's your appetite?
I have little to complain about, except this - when I get tired I feel very low. I’m 63 and in spite of my efforts to keep reasonably fit and active, tiredness is still invading more of my life. I doubt I’m at all unusual in that! But I do hate feeling so heavy-hearted.
