Park farther away from the supermarket as possible,those extra yards will help.

I’d say the best thing is to get a pet, it makes so much difference to your happiness (and fitness if it’s a dog).

Use stairs when possible, walk, stand on one leg whilst cleaning your teeth. Anything to improve your balance and strengthen the ankles and legs and prevent falls in later life. So many people I knew were taken into hospital after a fall, caught something there (MRSA, pneumonia, Norovirus) and never came home. My own parents, my mother's neighbour's parents to name but four.

Another vote for (lots of) walking - as we simply aren't meant to sit about - so use it or lose it (and a healthy vegan diet with loads of veg too). Better health, lower weight and blood pressure just follow automatically.

As for Jane Plan, as I commented on the hating adverts thread, I’d like to wipe the smile off her face.

Find a positive out of a negative. Can be something as silly as a cloud shape. I saw a pigeon trying to mount his mate and falling off my fence . He then tried again she moved away and looked and in my mind she said you have got to be joking and then flew off. He sat there and made me laugh.

I am another one who doesn't like Michael Moseley. Like that Jane plan woman it's just for the money.

I brush my teeth after everything I eat I do have a heathy home cooked diet. I keep active for my poor joints otherwise they would cease up. My doctor told me red wine in moderation is ok that’s good enough for me.

Well I’m a great fan of Michael Moseley and of the Just One Thing podcast.

One suggestion that really helped me to sort my sleep pattern out was going out for a short walk as soon as possible after waking up. Another was taking a hot bath just before bed.

I did try the cold shower idea………once.

Eat a bit less.

Vitamin D. The only supplement most people really get benefit from.
However, I have just been told I am anaemic so Dr has put me on iron tablets and I am eating spinach omelette for lunches. She told me not to follow meals with a cup of tea or coffee, as it prevents the absorption of the iron in the meal. I didn't know that.

Yes pascal - kefir!! We have started that too recently.
Kefir contains millions of probiotics, which are bacteria with potential health benefits. It's also low in lactose and packed with vitamins and minerals that are good for your body. Scientists have found a range of possible health benefits of kefir, including improved cholesterol, blood sugar control, and gut health.

I meant to add ... I'm shocked that people don't routinely brush their teeth twice a day!

Get up and move around every 20 minutes or so.

Kefir drink every morning for breakfast

Take a prebiotic such as inulin. It aids gut health. (Or add something to a meal that keeps your belly bugs happy).

I started doing this after a bout of tummy trouble, and have since discovered that it is a sleep aid too.

Mix with of all sorts and ages of oeople, preferably younger than oneself

Exercise your brain with crosswords or sudoku

Not too much white carbohydrate.

I have a good stretch and gentle exercise, maybe jog on the spot, every morning before my shower. Maybe 10 or 15 minutes, sometimes 20, sometimes only 5. Put on some happy punchy music. It really does help me to loosen up, put a smile on and face the day ahead.

Cut out as much sugar as you can.

Exercise enough.

I could write a long list, but I will go with calcium for bones
