Princess Grace hospital cancelled vital surgery for woman who requested single-sex care

For the patient the trans issue is paramount.

If I was management or higher, the main issue would be the unauthorised entry and the ignorance/violation of procedure in place to protect the patient.

Because I have no proof that this nurse was trans and presumably growstuff you have no proof that this nurse wasn't trans.

It was a private hospital. If it was the NHS, which runs on need, I'm sure they would say that you get the nursing care that's available and that if you can afford to make demands about who provides it then your surgery can't be as vital as all that.

Same as you get the surgery date you are assigned. If you think you can change it to avoid your holidays or that important business meeting then it can't be all that urgent.

I agree. The hospital needs to investigate that, but it's absolutely nothing to do with whether the nurse was male, female, trans or a Martian! The woman sounds like an unhinged and entitled trouble-maker.

I totally agree with the first two sentences.

I hope the investigation is not as biased against the patient though as your last sentence.

And perhaps the member of staff was also acting like an entitled trouble maker?

A head to head perhaps?

You're right. I have absolutely no idea which is why I wrote "allegedly". The only person who has alleged the nurse was trans was "Teresa", who wrote in an email "When I came in for a pre-surgical exam today, a creepy man in drag came into my exam room for a moment, uninvited, and looked at me".

She later wrote directly to the hospital "A young male in what appeared to be a blonde wig, wearing full evening make-up including bright scarlet lipstick peered at me."

For all I know this could have been somebody undergoing chemo or an alopecia sufferer.

No, I expect the hospital is professional, although it won't stop them having private thoughts.

Unless you're wearing blinkers, she comes over as completely batshit crazy.

If you could point me to an email or letter that supports your claim growstuff date and time for example, that would be helpful and much appreciated.

Twitter says she's called Teresa. The Mail says she's called Emma.

As if I wasn't confused enough.

BTW, the Mail also says her original request was for all female accommodation and the request for all-female care came after the "man in a wig" incident.
