Post-menopause respiratory probs (allergies?)

You need to see your GP and have a chest X ray and blood tests . Don't wait phone today for an appointment. Not saying anything is seriously wrong but you need to rule out things before your symptoms get worse. I had a wheezy cough. My GP sent me for chest X ray ,ECG and blood tests . Not to frighten you but my blood tests came back with heart failure doesn't mean I and dieing just my heart not working properly. Long story short I have Paroxysmal Atrial fibrillation on Flecainide and Apixaban for life and feel healthier than I have done for years.

Allergies and asthma can suddenly develop at any age - just another guess - but please don't delay in seeing your GP as it could be something that's potentially serious, yet easily treated.

Check the leaflet to see if a cough is a side effect of any medication you take. My blood pressure medication gave me a cough, so the GP changed the prescription, and it cleared up at once.
