Needle phobia

I heard a lovely article on the radio about a year ago, in which someone who had declined to travel, and even turned down jobs because of her needle phobia spoke very movingly. She realised how important the Covid vaccinations would be, so had sought specific help in working to overcome her phobia. She had now reached the point where she was volunteering at a vaccine centre.

I had students at school that would be physically ill after (and at times before) an injection Blossoming. I thought one of them was exaggerating when she explained to me, until I saw it.

I used to have a needle phobia so bad that I would actually faint at the sight of one. I’m afraid I can’t really help, it disappeared some time in the aftermath of my brain injury. I still have to turn my head away whenever I have an injection of any kind.

I was talking to the nurse at our GP and she said the same but she then said some of them have tattoos but won’t have vaccinations.

I'm a bit bothered. I thought I'd be better post chemo, but if anything, I'm worse.

I've also got a huge flying phobia. Really bad.

I've never been able to overcome either of them. I just push through.
