I’m pleased to hear your surgeon was reassuring SusieB50 You must have been worried before you went to see him so I can imagine how relieved you are.
Sleeping on the back (or attempting to) is awful isn’t it? I did find a pillow under my knees helped, and when I did risk trying to sleep on my non operated side I put a pillow between my knees to stop the operated leg from dropping onto the bed.
I don’t sleep well at the best of times actually, so I was interested to read about Phenergen silverlining so thanks for mentioning that. I will try to get some tomorrow.
I am now nearly five months since my surgery! I can’t believe how quickly the time has passed, apart from the early weeks when, like most people I had days when I felt fed up, and impatient to be back to normal.
The recovery can’t be rushed though, and I’m sure it’s possible to do more harm than good if we try to push ourselves too much.
Now, I hardly give my shiny new hip a thought!
