Fabulous news missmarpleknows and thanks to you and hulahoop for your messages prior to my surgery yesterday.
Like you, mine went smoothly with radioactive injection and wire insertion late morning then straight up to day surgery unit. In theatre around 2.30 and woke up in recovery at 4. Back home by 7 eating tea and toast and just back this morning from a lovely leisurely dog walk before resting for rest of the day. Saw surgeon afterwards who said all appeared straightforward, believes all BC removed and able to identify sentinel node easily.
I was greyblue and peeing green after the dye was injected ( I was forewarned! ) which was funny but that's gone now so my supporting role in the next avatar movie is sadly now not likely

My turn tomorrow afternoon they have said I will be in at least overnight hope it's no longer ? Dd is not well she has had covi d test ,luckily I isolated so haven't seen anyone for a week.Worrying about her now she has two young children and normally would help her at a distance but it can't be helped roll on New year !!

I have just had my third annual mammogram on my remaining breast and it was clear. It is always a relief.

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas.

It’s been the day for my review with the breast surgeon today. The surgeon reported that two very small tumours were discovered following my op. I’m to be referred to an oncologist who will see me in the new year to discuss with me follow up chemotherapy. I’m hoping that it may be in tablet form (if that’s appropriate for me) as it will lessen the need for hospital visits in these coronavirus times.
Wondering if any of you have had chemotherapy treatment in your 70’s? If so, have you any information or advice?

Hi update I am now back on ward drains both sides sides more pain than last time but it's over will update more tomorrow bless you all for your good wishes it means a lotxx

My daughter recently had the Moderna booster jab and felt quite unwell, with enlarged lymph nodes in her breasts and underarms. She's feeling better, but still, they're enlarged.

It's so sad that, after cancer, any lumps/bumps are assumed to be a relapse, when otherwise a reaction or infection would be expected.

MissMarple I am 75 and had chemo 2 years ago. I had 7 sessions three weeks apart. I was okay for the first 4 but the last 3 were pretty brutal. My oncologist cancelled the last one due to Covid which I was relieved about. I recovered quite quickly once I stopped. I also had radiotherapy which I found a doddle.

Been awake most of high but hopefully home today just had quick wash shower ? when home I am in with a lovely set of ladies mostly leg up staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble .trouble with no boobs you can stomach from the top ?
