I had a tooth out about four weeks ago. It was a really difficult extraction and took about 50 minutes of tugging and pulling. My poor dentist looked like he'd been working out at the gym
. As expected the wound and surrounding area took a couple of weeks to heal but I've been left with a painful jaw joint. It's a niggle rather than a pain most of the time but if I press on it, yawn or move my mouth from side to side it hurts (the other joint doesn't). I've phoned my dentist and he's phoning me back on Tuesday. I tend to clench my jaws when I'm asleep so sometimes I wake up in pain with it and have to take paracetamol. I know that won't be helping it. It's not urgent just irritating.
I was wondering if anyone else had ever sprained their jaw and if it eventually got better on it's own.
