Facial pain

dhills02 I have got this at the moment, and have had recurrences for 20 years, every few months. I am getting over a flare at the moment, and have been researching online. I think it's Allodynia because I also get patches of it on my legs at times.

My dentist says I grind my teeth and maybe it is that, but my symptoms don't really fit TMJ pain. I don't think it's Trigeminal Neuralgia as I rarely get flashes of stabbing pain, more a general sore feeling and hyper skin sensitivity.

I used to think it was due to a large metal filling on that side of my mouth, but I had all my fillings replaced and yet still get the pain occasionally.

I'm wondering if it's due to a root canal because they are supposed to harbour a lot of bacteria?

I get a flare up when I am stressed or run down. We are all stressed at the moment due to C-19, obviously, but I have also had a very painful back and my asthma has been out of control, so it may be due to all of that with me.

I was prescribed Amitriptyline for spinal pain, a very low dose worked very well with no side affects. I would see your GP again for advice.

Is it a tingling sensation? My daughter has had this either side of her nose under her eyes for over 2 years and seen umpteen different specialists and had scans galore and paid for holistic private treatments too but no one knows what it is or how to get rid of it. No clues to how it started either but she does get tinnitus as well after a heavy cold. Not sure if that's related.
