Phone call from GP Practice Nurse!

Nowhere near the same level but I was impressed that the lady who does my nails has sent 'text to all' her clients twice in the last weeksbto ask how we all are.

Yes, my DH who is on the shielded list had the same phone call, I am impressed with the level of help he has been offered i.e. food boxes (not needed and declined), calls from our local council asking how they can help (also declined but never the less much appreciated), prescriptions have been delivered by a volunteer

Our doctors have contacted us too as we are in the ' high risk' category.

Today my husbands Consultant rang to cancel his ' follow up ' and assured him as soon as things return to normal ' normal service ' will resume.

My husband is not ill (now) he was on a trial for his prostate cancer treatment which they managed to clear and as I say this was a continuation of recording his bloods for the trial records.

Well I could just be a figment of people's imagination
GP wouldn't know if I was alive or dead.

We live in a very small town which has a very small library. Both myself and husband use this a lot but of course it is closed now. There is only one paid librarian who is always really helpful. When in the library we both have a chat with her and have swooped details about our families etc. Of course she knows we are both 70, plus a bit, and last week she telephoned to ask how we both were. Such a kind thought and much appreciated as of course not something she had to do.

I too have had a number of calls from surgery and various hospital depts, checking I'm OK.
Next week I'm having a video call from a doctor. She is trying out a new system and wondered if I minded being a guinea pig!

The practice nurse phoned me the other day, which was extremely fortunate. She also runs the asthma clinic and was able to offer advice, as I was quite wheezy.
I haven't been so well looked after in years.

Same here, nice call from doctor following my two recent hospitalisations, just ensuring I wasn’t too anxious. Have to add we also had a call from our Parish Priest. He’s calling all his parishioners.

I had a call from an ENT consultant last week . We both agreed that I should have been seen by a Maxillofacial consultant many moths ago. Waste of her time and here I am still in agony.

Meant to add that my “consultation” was 3 weeks ahead of the appointment as (in her own words) she had no other patients .

I’m singling Marydoll out here because we know each other and have met up on several occasions it’s really nice to get to meet our gransnetters and to discover real names amid interesting life stories and fancy lunches.

Sorry to hear*Gillybob*that you’re in agony nothing worse especially as you’re waiting for your consultant appt take care and try and take your mind into a nice place perhaps a glass or two of something tasty will help.

I have had a call from the County Council, my cleaner and my odd job man. Nothing from the doctor although I have spoken to him at my request.

Elizabeth1, I had a TIA nearly 3 years ago---no follow-up or anything. That was the last time I saw her. She's probably alright so long as you're not ill

I complained about my Gp to the head of the practice about her attitudeafter one visit when I had a bad chest infection she said don’t come back can you imagine how I felt mind you her attitude was seen to improve after that (a little) can’t think why she became a Gp no bedside manner

I had a minor procedure July '19 I spoke to the GP that referred me February '20 as I still had the same symptoms and was told there is nothing I can do for you, I've already referred you.
I rang and spoke to the relevant hospital department only to be told as it's more than 6 months since we saw you, you will need to be referred again. I won't be seeing that GP again.
