annie can you not get help from social services too. You can’t possibly manage to do things round the house with your hands. Your DGD must be a boon but you should have mor help from others. Sorry you are having one of life’s lows. Hope spirits lift up soon. x

That’s some kind of Christmas cake, it sounds lethal ?

Doodle I can’t have a cleaner in now, this is a small town, I
don’t want anyone seeing my bungalow in a mess. If I did have
a cleaner how would I know who they clean for .

Social Services are suppose to be helping me have my path
repaired.

Just spoken to my granddaughter, she is frighten to come to
see me yet, so fearful she could pass the virus to me, it’s
only been two & half years since her mother died. She was
upset, my birthday this week and she knows I will be on
my own.

I will manage, I have done so since my darling daughter died. X

annie I understand how you feel but it’s so sad that people could gossip like that. It’s not as though you can clean for yourself. Things are so hard for you I wish social services would be more help to you.
Sorry you will be on your own on your birthday but nice to think your DGD would like to be with you if she could. What day is it, if you don’t mind me asking?

Oh Annie I wish I lived near you, I would come and help, between us we could manage, despite your bad hands and my bad knees.

Your dear grandaughter is thinking of you, she is a very caring young lady, like her mum and grandmother.

Social Services need to get a move on and sort your path out quickly - all this delaying is really not acceptable. Everything has gone into slow motion as you said before we need some structure to this, not all this dilly dallying about thngs that need to be done.

I wish I lived near you Annie... what’s a bit of dust that doesn’t matter, what matters is that you are well. Your poor granddaughter must be so worried, if she could come on a nice day you could have all the windows open while she is with you, that would be ok sure..

I too would help you if I lived near you. Now lockdown is eased, I know it is different in Wales. Please ask Social Sevices to help with the practical things. As Doodle said it is a shame people gossip.

Morning all. Annie as others have said please get in touch with Social Services, they will be able to help, you could have an helper, they will have masks and gloves and you could go to a different room while they clean. You are not the only one believe me, we know some people in your predicament and they are all helped, these are unusual times and you need to think about your wellbeing. Eventually you'll be able to return to your previous way of coping with your DGD coming round. Please get help.

Last week I decided to sort out the many, many photographs for my grandchildren of their mother from birth until her death, so many of them,
I have one taken 3 years ago on my birthday, she spent most
of the day with me, in the evening a knock at the door, she was
standing on the garden path where she had put fireworks in my garden pots ,lit them and sang happy birthday. She died
a few months later. So I am not depressed, it was grief .

I am ok , I understand my granddaughter wants to protect me , we have a very strong bond.

Enough about me, how is everyone coping ?

It seems we would all love to come and help annie, if we could.
You will be having many memories of past times looking at your photographs. What a lovely idea to sort them out for your grandchildren.
That memory of your daughter lighting the fireworks in your pots and singing happy birthday must be a precious one indeed. She was obviously a loving and caring daughter. It sounds as though your Granddaughter takes after her mum in caring for you.
Don’t know when your birthday is but I wish you happy birthday too ?.
I am going to brave the strong winds here and have a short walk. Sun is out but very blustery.

Doodle two years ago I decided to find a cleaner, granddaughter heard , she said ‘I will help you’ I said no thank you concentrate on university’ hands on hips she said ‘you have looked after me for 19 years, i want to help you’.

I have a positive, I had one rather large plant in my indoor garden which I have had for some years, it was pot bound and looking in danger, decided I had to do it myself, had to use a desert spoon to fill a larger pot with compost, difficult with only use of thumb and fore finger , - I did it this morning ?

Yes annie it is, but at least I’m able bodied enough to do it whereas you with your poor hands have all those bottles to wash.
Well done on achieving a plant re pot. It must have taken you ages. I bet the plant is pleased ?

I have been up since 5 a.m. couldn't sleep and got up to paint a window sill in the back bedroom! Felt better after I had done it!
Postie bought me a letter with a new appointment from Rheumatology for my scan at the end of the month, which I was surprised and very pleased about.

Hello all. Joce sorry you’re a bit low. You’ve been doing really well. As annie said, hold on to those happy memories and all you’ve achieved. We all have off days, hope yours picks up soon.
I have had a man in the flat today?. We had to have the plumber in to look at our sink. He wore a mask and so did I. DH was kept well out of the way and I cleaned all the surfaces the plumber touched. Looks like the work could be done in a week or two. It will be a relief to have a functioning sink in the kitchen again.
annie hope you are ok and you too lavender. I couldn’t sleep last night. After I went to bed I remembered I was going to make a mask for myself today when the plumber came. I knew I would have time in the morning but couldn’t get the thought out of my head. In the end I just got up and made it. So you were painting window sills I was sewing my mask in the early hours. What a pair! ? Did you sleep ok annie?
