I am 66 (will be 67) in September 2020. I lost my husband 2008 after 35 years of marriage and I worked full time up to Friday of last week (see below content of my resignation letter). I had been off sick that week.
I am seeing Docs tomorrow morning for advice as I feel I cannot work my months notice as just have no more energy and pain in body. The week I took off sick I was suffering from what I can only describe as very bad panic attacks I.e nausea, sweating, headaches, pain in joints and muscles & feeling very low in that I feel I am losing control physically.
I believe that I will improve both mentally & physically once I adapt to getting used to the time being my own to do with what I wish albeit financially I will be worse off but much better off health wise. I have worked all my life so this was a big decision for me and I have been thinking of taking this step for some time now since I was diagnosed with heart disease.
Letter of Resignation -
“Due to circumstance beyond my control It is with regret that as from Friday 24th January 2020 I give notice of my resignation. I can no longer continue working full time and have felt for sometime that my body tires very easily, the result of which has caused me ill-health and anxiety alongside the fact that I now have heart disease and an ongoing gum condition which leaves me in considerable pain.
Please note also
1. Air quality / air conditioning within office I feel has been detrimental to my health.
2. Office facilities I.e chair / computer positioning detrimental to my health
3. Noise factor / over-crowding within office can have a detrimental affect on productivity of work thus causing more stress although I hasten to add that I understand the ...... do have problems with funding and spacing.
4. I am of retirement age.
I would like to add that I have thoroughly enjoyed the time I have spent with the other employees that I interact with on a daily basis, they have been an absolute pleasure to work with”
