Miraculous recovery of hearing

I have just had my ears syringed at our local surgery - the first time ever. The difference is nothing short of miraculous - although very alarming to hear my bike rattling so much. Although my hearing now seems perfect, I probably ought to have a hearing test too, so would welcome any advice ... NHS? Private? Where do I go from here?

I've had trouble with very narrow ear canals, and wax build up since I was 12 or 13.
I remember the first time I had my ears syringed! I was amazed that I could hear my hair rustling beside my ears shock.
I now do them myself with a little kit I bough online.

Free preliminary test at Boots. If the audiologist thinks you need to be referred she'll help with next steps.
She may also tell you that your hearing loss is minor and needs no immediate attention.

The Practice Nurse at our clinic advises all older people that before paying for expensive (very expensive) hearing aids, they should have their ears syringed.

She says it saves them thousands of dollars.

Grannyjacq1, isn't it wonderful to hear clearly again?

I do remember having my ears syringed, many years ago, by our family Dr.
When I came out of the surgery, with my mum, I was horrified at how loud the trolleybus sounded.
Good suggestions regarding having your hearing checked out though.
