Hi Annie. Just come back from Rheumatology and they have started me on immune- suppressant drugs, perhaps they will help my achy breaky bits! Hope they find something you can stomach, no pun intended!

nanna so sorry , same for me, not anti depressants but medication for arthritis is a no no because of a stomach ulcer.

Oh Nanna58 that sounds like a lot to deal with so understandable that you have the black dog. Some of the people on here don't have a pinpointable reason and find it hard to understand why they are depressed.

Thanks annie, not doing quite so well at the moment but quietly congratulating myself for not showing how cross I was with DH when shopping this morning. He was simply grumpy! He is out now and again this evening so I can regain my tolerance. Think I will give in and knit now.

Whole pack of black dogs here! Have relied on antidepressants for clinical depression since 17 and , to a greater or lesser extent, they work .Then, developed immune system arthritis and the medication for that gave me duodenal ulcers. Not good, but not a disaster. Then the medication I must take for that reacts badly with antidepressants so have been taken of them. Sooo , now stiff, in pain, joints and stomach, and very,very low, lower than I’ve been in a long time. So, will stock up on Chum and dog treats for the foreseeable!

annie you are so right. Hope is everything, combined with faith it’s all we have.
DGS is going out and about as usual so hope he comes to terms with loss of his beloved dog. Mum and dad don’t want to get another at the moment as they haven’t had a holiday for years due to dog being poorly and not wanting to leave her.
Hope all of you are ok. It’s pouring with rain here. So dull and cold. Pity those where it’s flooding.

I have another positive. I think yesterday was the best day in a long time. DH was poorly so I had a free run of the house and achieved a lot. I even finished a Christmas sweater for dg, having not knitted for a year. Now making a hat for a man coming to stay who I have never met. He is coming from a warm country and going on to Scotland so seems like a good idea. Hoping to make gloves and a scarf too. If I can keep up the momentum today I will be really happy. Its been a long time so hope for us all.

One good thing about hard times/things if that is possible is that when something good does finally happen you really and truly appreciate it and relish it and enjoy it and it can become a platform for you to hope that other good times could happen to you again. Why because you have known the hard times too and so now a good experience is well deserved.

Annie just catching up as l have been away for a few days.
Very sorry to hear about your glitch but very glad to hear that you have picked up again. Always a bump on the road. At least each day is a new day and so a fresh start if we can look at it like that.
I take one step forward and sometimes two backwards. Hope to reverse that someday.

I do look hard for positives for my own sake because there is a lot of good in my life despite feeling that I have had far more than my share of the bad.

Hi friends I have also been writing Christmas cards today. Just looked up price of stamps 61pence for 2nd class - bit pricey don’t you think.

Joyce I hate that feeling as seems to come from no where. I’ve had bit of churny tum today but I think it’s caused by family pressures. Just wish it would all calm down. Writing Christmas cards took my mind off things for a bit.
Now sitting with my feet up watching Rubbish tv.

I have two positives today! I have started my long distance Christmas card writing and I am no longer overweight! Well, not if I am as tall as I would like to think . Next target is to be a normal weight for someone one inch shorter.

Good your counsellor was able to reassure you annie. Hope you have a good sleep tonight. Listen to one of your audio books. I’m sure you are listening to something really good.

Sorry didn’t join you yesterday . Had session with counsellor and was so tired . I am ok after the upset on Tuesday, counsellor explained it was flash backs , it was grim but no connection to anxiety .
