My anxiety has just gone to over drive!

I support a very close relative with a rare condition, as a result of which this person also suffers distress, anxiety and panic attacks.

Today was bad day for my relative due to something said at the school gates.
After an upsetting telephone call, I am now in a state of anxiety and fear, not only for my relative but also the knock on effect it could have on the two young children.

I am unable to say what the condition is as I have made a promise not to discuss with
anyone including other family members.

My DH is practical and will help with hospital visits, but the rest of the time his mantra is 'I don't know what say or do'.
He is now engrossed in a tv programme whilst I am in fear mode and feeling physically sick.

Sorry for long post, it's just hard when I can't discuss with anyone in RL

Having a feeling of "sadness" currently, not depression.

Finding it hard to understand what has brought it on, but it is bringing me down.

Annie....so sorry to hear that. Do you talk to people on the 'phone? Have visitors?

I know that when I am feeling really low, I don't want to talk to anyone, but I just wondered if you've got people you could talk to, if/when you feel like it?

Annie I understand about the recluse thing, I love being alone as with my fatigue, talking a lot or for longer than 2O minutes is sometimes too much, and can be exhausting.

I'm another who wakes up anxious and unmotivated. I suffer badly with insomnia and take a prescribed sleeping pill every other day so have a bad day and an even worse day. I am not anxious when lying awake during the night though. Particularly bad today because I have to do something I know is going to be emotionally very painful which I have been putting off.

Marilla I so understand how you felt in the nursery . During one of my therapy sessions the therapist said ‘look
through the window at your garden path and the Cul de sac
what do you see that could cause you harm , cause you to be
fearful ‘, my reply was ‘nothing’, this is true yet the thought of going out there and tummy churns, legs feel even weaker.

Nandalot I am thrilled elder granddaughter is coming back to Wales, I secretly feared younger granddaughter would join her in Cornwall when she finishes university, if she did I would support her but !

Well done going to the gardens and great to learn you enjoyed the visits. So sorry your husband wasn’t well enough to do the second day.

Despite my fears really enjoyed the weekend. The two gardens we saw were beautiful and inspiring and luckily the rain held off for us. Weekend cut short though as we had to return early and miss the second day and next garden as DH poorly. Symptoms are very much like his ME from 30 years ago. He still gets flare ups. So now there are two miserable, floppy people in the house. Had to get up though to get DGC to school otherwise I might have just pulled the covers over!

Anniebach I was so pleased with the lovely news about your Grandaughter’s plans to return closer to home.
My anxiety is definitely worse on waking and will continue until midday. It is with me me throughout the day, but the morning is when it’s worse. I get cross with myself in wasting the day.
I made myself go out to our local nursery last week in the afternoon. Instead of finding some pleasure in walking around in the sun and enjoying seeing the plants and shrubs, I was filled with trepidation and came home. There is nothing threatening or worrying in being there. It’s all so unpredictable and quite debilitating.

Salsa I have very little motivation now, am really living the life of a recluse, so different to two years ago. What is troubling is I am getting use to being a recluse.

Anniebach... I find it a struggle to get going in the mornings - not because I'm physically unable to do so, but I find it difficult to get motivated to do anything unless I've got a reason to do so.

I really must have too much time on my hands. I'm doing some washing and cleaning, then meeting my friend and we're joining Slimming World later. This afternoon, I'll do some more things at home, then I always see another friend for Zumba on Monday evenings.

Hello Annie. Hope you are doing ok ..The mornings are when I am at my worst always.. I wake very early 3.30 /4 and I cannot stop the anxiety it’s really bad..

Anyone experiencing or has experienced anxiety on waking in the morning ?

hi all ...feeling weird today. annie i came home from work to find a black and white cat in my bushes (i have seen him before and fed him before) and he came running over for cuddles, he got loads, i fed him and then he came in the house had a wander round my cats bedroom ate some more and then my cat came home and i had to put him outside, i felt so mean.

I've had a busy day......I picked up DS and his 2 girls (he has them every other w/e), took the younger one to a party (9.30am! Strange time for a party I thought), then drove 20 miles so that the older GD could take part in a cricket training session and match (just a kid's thing she's been doing lately), which was lovely but very cold, sitting outside for 2.5hrs..... fetched the younger one, picked up my other son. We all went for a Sunday lunch at the pub, then to the park, then my house for tea, then I've just taken them all to their own homes (sons to each of their places, kids back to their mother's). I'm knackered now
