Search for massage oil

I don't have the same conditions as you, just dry skin, but I use organic, raw coconut oil. A little goes a long way and it doesn't leave you feeling greasy.

Do you know the ingredients of the Dermalogica oil? Could you compare them with other brands of massage oil and work out what the ingredient is that causes the flakiness, or doesn't cause it.

I can understand your problem. I have to be careful what lotions and face creams I use because I come up in a red rash if I use some of them, but I have never been able to identify the exact chemical/s that cause the problem.

A consultant prescribed Dermol which can be used as a cream/lotion/soap substitute it had to be used often during the day. That was why I was so delighted to find that the Dermalogica body massage oil suited me and left my skin soft and nourished and amazingly it lasted for three days. In the last year I have tried dozens of oils and found that within 24 hours my skin reverts to it's normal state of being flaky and itchy. So disappointing and it doesn't help when the massage costs £60 every two weeks!

Why don't you contact Dermalogica direct and ask them to advise you of the contents of that particular oil and if it is no longer being sold could they suggest a suitable alternative.

With a quick google search these two websites came up as selling Dermalogica oils & I am sure there are more but of course they may not be the particular oil you require. HTH.

I have been using QV body products. My DD brought them over from Australia but I think you can get them here.
Only problem is I have only just discovered that they contain palm oil and have just sent them an e-mail asking if it’s from a sustainable source!
Perhaps you could find an aromatherapist to mix you your own concoction using a base oil that wouldn’t cause a flare up.

I thought you had found one toscalily but on reading the small print, it is recommended for skin with excess oil production--the opposite to what I need. However many thanks for your help

Maybe try contacting Neal’s Yard? It’s all organic and natural as far as I know. They might be able to guide you to something suitable.

I have emailed Dermalogica to ask for the ingredient listing for their discontinued oil. When it comes I shall then search for a similar oil. Neal's Yard is a real find and though I can dismiss the majority (nut based) there are some real possibilities. What a find, thank you so much Allegretto, I will let you know how I get on,
