Contact Lenses

I have bought contact lenses on line for years too, using same as prescribed by optician, save quite a bit of money.

Beware - the cheaper ones online are generally not designed for extended wear. They let less oxygen through to the surface of your eye and are only meant to be worn for max 7 hours a day.

I have been using the Specsavers ones for over 5 years. Just take them out once a week overnight for a clean and change to a new pair on the 1st of the month. That's an easy date to remember and optician says it doesn't matter if it is a long or short month.

I also have a pair of their cheapish specs for emergencies, though I hate them!

Even factoring in the cost of eye tests, Specsavers often have vouchers, you can save money.
You can also take advantage of offers on glasses that are better than the discount you get while on the contact lens scheme.

Thanks Pittcity I think I will. Looked at some prices online & they are a lot cheaper than specsavers.

I get my eyes tested every 2 years and contacts checked annually. I then use the prescription and the optician's brand advice to buy online as and when needed.
I save a lot on the brand name lenses and use own brand solutions. Check that the ingredients are the same and you'll be ok.

I have an eye test and contact lens check every two years as nothing ever seems to change.

Do you go for any contact lens check-up anywhere or is it just your usual eye test?

I've been buying mine online for years, I stick with the same make rather than go mega cheap and have never had a problem.
