Illness at Christmas

It was quiet where DH was taken too! Emergency op on Christmas day and the surgeon came in on boxing Day ( his day off) to check on him.

Just what I was thinking Tartlet
It may be the best time to be ill ( if you know what I mean!)
Worrying for all at the time though.

Same for us we had to get help and the NHS were kind and friendle as well as efficient .

Not free. We all pay for it just not at the point of use.

My son in law was also ill on Christmas Day and had nothing but praise for the 111 service and the emergency doctor who treated him. No waiting for someone to answer and waiting even longer to be called back like on a normal day. When my daughter mentioned the difference to the doctor he said that it was because no one wants to be ill on Christmas Day and be distracted from the festivities so generally speaking the only people who use the service then are truly ill and in need of help so, despite the fact that far fewer staff are on duty, they are able to give faster attention to patients. I think that’s a sad reflection on how the service is used most of the time.

I hope your husband is feeling a bit better Cabbie21. Bronchitis can be very unpleasant.
