Skin Cancer

I can’t help in anyway medically and I can understand your worry but my thoughts are this: the first doctor did what he/she was meant to do they sent you for a scan which showed it was a cyst and not anything dangerous , that was four years ago so presumably it has just stayed the same in all that time or else you would have gone back so I don’t think you have any reason to feel anger at that doctor
A few months ago you returned to your doctor who presumably going by your past history and by examining it he/ she obviously didn’t think it was anything to be concerned about either but to be on the safe side referred you to a dermatologistwho has now fast forwarded you for more tests I don’t think you can be cross about that either
In a panic we always look for blame but even if it turns out to be a skin cancer that doesn’t mean that it was cancer four years ago things can turn and change on a sixpence
Skin cancer is very common and normally easily treatable my mum had it and I have two friends at the moment having bits removed Your dermatogist has assured you no lymph nodes are affected so although it’s really scary for you I would try your best not to go down the route of imagining the worst
I think you will feel much better after you have been to the breast clinic and please write down all the things you are worried about to ask them as you may forget at the time

Yes you are right BlueBelle and that is just what my DH said. I was just in total shock yesterday. It helps so much to talk about it and get it in perspective.

So pleased you have come back on here dragonfly and it’s good to hear your husband is supportive and positive can he go with you to the next appointment ?
It’s the shock and that will sink in and I m sure after a few days you will feel much better about it and remember positivity can only help, the more you worry the worse for your whole system worry and stress depletes us more than we realise, I think

I had a precancerous mole on my arm which had to be removed. It was getting bigger. Like you,*dragonfly*, I panicked at first, but the small operation was soon over.
Now I have 2 other small skin scabbed blotches which won't heal, and I'm going to the GP first. Still a bit worried but hopefully can be treated.
Keep us up to date on here.

I am worried because the whole growth is quite big, deep and hard. I expect it is going to take some digging out. I haven't heard from the hospital yet so still on tenterhooks.
I have decided not to tell AC yet until I have more information. We are all going to Centreparcs at the end of the month to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and my husbands 75th birthday and we are planning to go to my son's for Christmas so a lot to look forward to - I just hope it all goes ahead.

I have bought all my Christmas presents just in case!!
