BP Medication stopped

I was on here a while back talking about BP medication. I was taken off Bendrofluazide after about 10 years but was left on Candesartan which I have also been on for some time.
Now 'they' are trying to find something to go with the Candesartan. I was on Calcium blocker for 1 month but felt so bad that I had to come of it and am now on Bisoprolol. I thought I should give this a little longer to give it a fair trial so have been on this for 3 months. The worst thing is the resulting lethargy. I think that alot of these BP medications are formulated to slow us down but I really don't want to be feeling permanently like this. I'm thinking that there is most likely no medication that doesn't cause this problem.

I am going to discuss this with the chemist within my doctor's practice on 8th November and see if there is any alternative that doesn't have a tiredness side effect.

I may decide to tolerate it because it definitely does reduce anxiety .

have been taking Bisoprolol for a long time due to AF and coupled with statins,warfarin and spironolactone ( all thinners ) my BP has been very low at times too. It seems that every time I visit the GP which isn't often ( maybe once a year ) my BP suddenly goes up so they prescribe tablets to bring it down until I explain that it's they who cause it to rise. Makes me wonder over the years if I've been taking such stuff unnecessarily that it's been my " in-built " anxiety that's created the problem.
Bisoprolol is for anxiety too.

I have the opposite problem and have always had a low BP. I have been put on bisoprolol to try and control a heart rhythm problem and last night in bed my BP was 97/38!!!! I took it as I felt a bit queer! Can't get appt with GP till Thursday.

Over the years I've tried various bp medications which have been pretty hit and miss in getting one which suits me. One which I settled for was Candesartan which I took for a number of years until I suffered such a dizzy spell one day that I blamed that medication for the cause. I must admit that I was never overly happy or comfortable taking the stuff but needs must at the time my bp was out of control. However I rang the gp after I'd stopped the medication and told her that I could no longer function on a low bp and a pulse you could hardly feel. I swear the damn stuff has done damage and reduced the capacity of the heart to pump properly.
Most beta-blockers cause the ankles to swell ( I don't think it's natural,personally ) as it's stopping the normal circulation.
The BP does fluctuate during a normal day. Mine is a " white-coat " thing when I have it taken at the surgery,from being low to normal at home. Take your BP each day for a week then show the results to your gp.

I would book in to the GP for a medication review.
