Just did a google search and the yearly infusion seems to be Reclast. Will check it out and thanks.

Yes Marydoll it was just 15 minutes sitting in a chair hooked up listening to the nurses talk about their night out I was the only one in a little side room with two nurses I watched the minutes tick by and it pinged finished like a microwave after 15 minutes, then off I went to catch my bus home totally painless I felt a bit tired th3 next day but nothing more The nurse also told me it costs about £3.50p or less for the infusion as I was a bit worried I was having some preferential expensive treatment, so I didn’t break the nhs s bank ?

I cant unfortunately give you that information as no name was ever mentioned I was just told I could have a yearly infusion and as I hadnt read up on it I just presumed it was the same thing but going into my body and not via my gullet as the doctor knew I couldn’t have the oral medicine I didn’t even realise there were so many different medications for osteoporosis as everyone I know is on Alendronic acid weekly tablet so I didn’t do any research just went along and thought how simple it all was
I have to have a annual infusion for three years then another bone density scan to see if it has improved
I should be having my second infusion in May/ so will ask for more information

I had been on Alendronic acid on and off for 20 years. Last year I became so unwell on it I had to stop.
I have an appointment in a few weeks to discuss the infusion.
When I last discussed it a few years ago with my consultant, he said it meant an overnight hospital stay. Fifteen minutes sounds great to me!

Thanks BlueBelle! Can I ask what is the name of the yearly infusion? Is it Prolea? I have an appointment with the specialist on Friday and would like to discuss an alternative to the Forsteo.

Most people I know are on alendronic acid weekly tablet but I can’t take that so I have a yearly infusion which gives me no side eff3cts at all apart from feeling slightly under par the next day The infusion itself takes fifteen minutes and that’s it for a year

If you are worried you should make an appointment to see your GP or if you have a pharmacist at the surgery have a word with him or her.
