Mum had them done over a period of time. You will need someone to drive you as apart from possibly feeling wobbly after, your eye will be blurry.

ww I am aware of that thankyou. It will be the same as when I had the laser treatment. That's what I mean about the logistics. Nobody to drive me except D and she is an hour and a half away.
Public transport is not an option, taxi, 3 trains and a taxi other end.
Basically why I was asking how often and how many.

Well I can’t exactly remember but they took place over a period of time. But mum had malecular degeneration, so it will be different for you I guess. Oh dear I’m not being very helpful am I

There are some volunteer drivers in this area who help people out. Maybe phone the hospital and see if they know of such a scheme in your area or google it?

I had them for a year at monthly intervals. I may have to start again soon. Every month you will probably have scans done to see if you have to continue
You will not be allowed to drive yourself and wouldn't be able to anyway.
Finally it is not as awful as it sounds, you get used to it.

My Dad had them every month for about two years then he died or he would have still been having them I think He never found it a problem and said they weren’t painful or horrible at all The eye clinic in our local hospital were really lovely to him and he quite looked forward to going they all made a fuss of him The hospital is about 8 plus miles away and I don’t drive so we had a monthly taxi but he was also offered a hospital car so do ask, there are many folks who don’t have drivers with them who use hospital transport also because of his sight and not being able to use his bus pass for this he got some free taxi rides not many I think it was about half a dozen a year but everything helps

When I finished last January there were people going who had been going for 3 plus years.
The consultant told me that some just give up in the end as it got too much.

Oh heck ann I hope that isn't the case for me. I can understand why some would give up.
