Post meno bleed

I think that's the one that sorted my cystitis out,although I was a bit upset when it came back a few weeks later. Fortunately another short course worked and, touch wood I've not had one since.

Yes Tegan you're absolutely right. Hopefully I will sleep well tonight but unfortunately I'm on my second antibiotic because of a urinary tract infection and I'm sure its because I stopped the Ovestin whilst awaiting results. I had the three day Trimethoprim which seemed to be working but on day 4 it was back. Today I started Furantonin so keeping my finger crossed. Hey ho what can you do.

Pleased to hear this, moores. The NHS is so wonderfully thorough but, boy does the waiting for test result cause stress!

I have refused the coil. It caused me great pain and trouble when I tried it as a contraceptive, I had to have it removed then and I have no reason to believe it would be different now. My uterus is not aligned in the usual manner:-)

Just to let you know finally have the results of the biopsy and all is OK which as you can imagine is a fantastic relief but the gynae is going to carry out a hysteroscopy next week. If its a polyp obviously he will remove it. Also I have a thickened lining of the endometrium which could be becauseof 12 years of using Ovestin on and off. He says he could insert a Mirena coil which I believe contains progesterone which prevents any more thickening and I could continue with the Ovestin. I stopped this when the investigations started and I'm on my second course of antibiotics which I am sure is caused by the vaginal atrophy. I'm about 15 years post meno and its strange to be considering a coil at my age. Just wondered if anyone else has done this and its working well.

Norhisterone. My problem is I have had to wear towels all this time as I can never be sure when I might get spotting. Which is expensive and can get uncomfortable.

Sorry to hear you are in the same boat Yggdrasil. I'm still waiting to hear the results of the biopsy. I was hoping they would be back before the Bank Holiday but obviously not. I did speak to the gynae as when he sent a copy of his letter to the GP it said the endo thickening was 12 mms and of course I googled and worried. He did reassure me that if had had any concerns of what was seen on teh scan he would have arranged further investigations. So its just the waiting game. He said if there were cancerous changes then he would suggest laparoscopic hysterectomy which solves the problem. Hope it doesn't turn out to be that but just have to wait and see. My problem is I am always a glass half empty! What are the hormone tabs called if you don't mind me asking. I just had that one bleed (touching wood) and then it stopped.

I'm going through this too. I had a biopsy months ago, they are not sure what it is, polyps or something but not cancer, so they gave me hormone tablets to take for 6 months. The bleed is just spotting but has never stopped. I have just been seen at the hospital again, there is a different consultant there now so I am going through the same as last time, I don't think they have time to read notes.
Hopefully in your case they will decide to treat whatever they find and get it cleared up. AFAICS I need a scrape, or maybe a hysterectomy.
Sorry if this isn't reassuring, but 10 days isn't that long to wait. And if it is cancer they WILL deal with it quickly and it will have been found early enough to be cleared.

I had this once but I didn't worry unduly as I had all the symptoms of a period ie sore boobs gut ache etc. I worked in a hospital at the time so had super fast investigation but it was just hormonal

I've just been through the same thing, although the bleed was not heavy. I had a cyst on my ovary and as it was small, I was told not to worry and I would be going back for a follow up transvaginal scan after a couple of months.
I had that yesterday and the cyst had gone! ☺

That's really reassuring Harrigran. Its the waiting for results which is the worst.

My sister had this a couple of months ago and on examination was found to be a polyp which was removed under GA and no further problems.
