Operation for reflux

Do you know what they actually need to do for this? It us news to me that you can have an operation.

Not personally but a friend had an operation for this some time ago, it was keyhole and was very successful. This was NHS.

Great dilemma here for my husband. He is on the waiting list for a NHS reflux operation but has now found out that a superior operation 'lynx'is available privately only. Have any of you any experience with either? We would be grateful for any advise.
