Unborn baby's small tummy

Have you googled it? I can see it could be worrying.

Can only say DGS was reported in the same way pre birth but no issue with his tummy now he's here. Try not to worry too much, although I know it's hard.

Have you, or the pregnant woman concerned, asked the ante-natal doctors and nurses? If so, what did they say? If not, and she's worried, tell her to ask.

Used to be a midwife hope fully her medics would send her for a more detailed scan if they were worried ,what I would say is get her to ask her midwife ,she should have been given a contact no ,where I used to work the big focus is on ensuring that the baby is growing adequately ,alongside that of the mums wellbeing .

Yes, I did google it which is why I'm asking other gransnetters to see what they have to say. There is more to this pregnancy than meets the eye and it would be truly awful if it went wrong.

Googling is not asking a doctor or midwife direct.

The routine checks - there for very good reasons - can trigger worry which I think is sometimes overlooked by the medical professionals as of course for them it is all 'routine'. Direct questions at the check-ups can get answers, but in our case it was more 'well, we are just keeping an eye on things', which didn't help really until we re-framed it as 'if we thought there was something really wrong we would be doing more scans'. It helped a bit. If this is a complex pregnancy then the medical professionals are certainly the best people to be asking as they know this individual pregnancy and the circumstances surrounding it.
