Buying glasses on line - anyone done it/ got advice?

I would think twice if your prescription is high or the cyl part of your prescription is high ...also you would I imagine need to know your pupillary distances and the heights of the different parts of the lenses so that all blends in well as this can differ with with different size frames.The ptician that provided your sight test is obliged to give you a copy of your prescription to have filled where you choose ,he may not want/or have to provide you with these......I did work for 12 years in a well known high street chain who would not have given you this information.....it may be a costly mistake as any mistakes would first have to be checked against prescription being correct ...and then if specs made up correctly. Have seen many instances where patient backwards and forwards between two places to get problems checked out..

I also understand your problem as my prescription is high and my lenses need thinning so I have experienced your pain about costs mine can be in region of £700..

It was expensive and I have not recovered from paying over £500 a couple of weeks ago, but I still would not go anywhere else. If there is a problem afterwards, there is redress with the optician but rarely on line.

Even a simple thing like having the glasses fitted afterwards so that they are not too tight or about to fall off if you look to the ground for any reason, is all part of the service.
