So sorry that you've lost your dear friend, Soutra. I can understand how bereft you feel.
It does seem so very unfair.

Sorry to hear that Soutra I agree it is a nightmare of a disease. I have lost many people to it too, as I'm sure we all have. I had a friend who sounds a similar sort of person to your friend. She died at 52 from ovarian cancer. She led a really healthy lifestyle. She was very slim and active. Her diet was extremely healthy - lots of fruit, vegetables, vitamins etc, no alcohol, no smoking. In fact I knew two ladies who led similar lifestyles and were both dead from cancer at 52.
Heartfelt condolences, soutra. The curse of cancer doesn't seem to care who it affects. I've given up trying to make sense of it. Too many funerals recently and all cancer victims
soutra I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. mishap is so right, losing a dear friend is just as painful, if not more so, as losing a family member. After all, you chose to be friends. I hope you can remember the happy and silly times you had together
I would be devastated if I lost my best friend too.
I am always struck that animals can get cancer too. So, sadly, I dont think that the best nutrition there is, is a guard against every health issue.
I'm so sorry to hear of your devastating news, very, very sad Soutra
I too am sorry for your loss - none of it ever makes any sense at all, and all we can do is be thankful for her friendship, for the good things of her life and for the happy memories that you will take with you and share with others - so she will live on in your hearts. .
I do not think that one should underestimate the sorrow of losing a friend - sometimes friends know us better and feature in our lives more than our own families.
Soutra so sorry for the loss of such a good friend this terrible illness shows no boundaries your friend sounds so inspirational
Soutra I'm so sorry that you've lost a dear friend and I can understand your anger.
Another dear friend "slipped away " peacefully early yesterday morning, but I am
as well as
She was only 65, and as a qualified and dedicated nutritionist who had published books on e.g."smart" eating to beat the menopause and lived 100% by her beliefs! she led the healthiest lifestyle anybody could. Active and enterprising, she trekked up Macchu Pichu at he age of 60+ , so why oh why did she develop a particularly rare but aggressive form of colo-rectal cancer?
An inspirational person, warm witty and sociable, Jane was positive and brave to the end. I am devastated.
