Oh dear Soutra you are having a tough time of it lately losing yet another friend to cancer

Sorry to hear that Soutra I agree it is a nightmare of a disease. I have lost many people to it too, as I'm sure we all have. I had a friend who sounds a similar sort of person to your friend. She died at 52 from ovarian cancer. She led a really healthy lifestyle. She was very slim and active. Her diet was extremely healthy - lots of fruit, vegetables, vitamins etc, no alcohol, no smoking. In fact I knew two ladies who led similar lifestyles and were both dead from cancer at 52.

Heartfelt condolences, soutra. The curse of cancer doesn't seem to care who it affects. I've given up trying to make sense of it. Too many funerals recently and all cancer victims

soutra I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. mishap is so right, losing a dear friend is just as painful, if not more so, as losing a family member. After all, you chose to be friends. I hope you can remember the happy and silly times you had together

I should have said total guard.

I would be devastated if I lost my best friend too.

I am always struck that animals can get cancer too. So, sadly, I dont think that the best nutrition there is, is a guard against every health issue.

I too am sorry for your loss - none of it ever makes any sense at all, and all we can do is be thankful for her friendship, for the good things of her life and for the happy memories that you will take with you and share with others - so she will live on in your hearts. .

I do not think that one should underestimate the sorrow of losing a friend - sometimes friends know us better and feature in our lives more than our own families.
