That is a big relief- Christmas is so long ago I have forgtten about it but you obviously have not with your spluttering a nd coughing. I do hope that you feel better soon.

That is good news Katek. I think that this winter has been quite hard on people with asthma.

Good news KatyK DH's X-Ray was clear too and he's been coughing since November. He's not asthmatic though.

Just googled it myself! Looks as if my particular personality type lends itself to allergies. Perhaps someone has more medical inderstanding than I do and can explain.

I wondered if he said 'atypical presentation' which is what my GP said about my DD who had the '100 day' cough after flu, it was because she had the symptoms of a chest infection but her lungs were clear.

Katek I'm so gad that your X-Ray result was good. Having had the same type of wracking cough twice during the past three years I know how debilitating and exhausting it can be.
Being a fairly compulsive Googler of things that are new to me I looked up atopic personality and I am dumbfounded to find that one of the studies on this describes me and some of my physical health problems to a T!
I had never thought of myself as having a personality 'system' and still less that my personality could/would influence this particular aspect of my health, but having read this hospital study I recognised myself so clearly that I'm now off to do some further Googling.

Sounds like your doctor is interested in complementary therapies.

Our practice is quite open minded - one GP will prescribe homeopathic remedies and another provides acupuncture. Good to have options.
