Not a normal cold....
I need an answer or 2.. I had a cold for 6 months I did go to the doctors to and fro but gave up going back as they couldn't help my cold, it was a full on head cold so 6 months in to my cold and I went to docs they sent they said I had the biggest set of polyps and sent me to see a specialist. The specialist sent me for a brain scan Which came back there was something there but the doc said there's nothing to be concerned about and that all was normal.. That dose leave you wondering.. I should say by the time I was seen for brain scan, I had had the cold for just over a year, I had no taste, or smell I had a full on head cold my nose would run, I had a head Ake all day and night for at least 7 months I even blew my nose and heard horrid noise's in my ear.. my own Doctor said I had the biggest set of polyps she had Eva seen, and gave me some spray, I didn't really get on with the spray made me feel yuck.. But the specialist that seen me that day said he could see anything.. But I could could see up my nose with my mirror. And they were still there, well when I looked I also saw a hole had appeared in the in side of my nose, which worried me, so I thought I would get it checked by a different doc, he asked me if I snort cocane which I don't, he said it's just one of those things that happen now and again, well he also said my polyps are in fact sinatitas, he gave me some filxonase drops, which have helped loads, I can smell and taste and my bad head is much better, but if I stop using the drops for 3 days it all comes back.. I also still have lumps up my nose, and a hole, but I've noticed that up my nose is red and inflamed, I'm so tired like you wouldn't believe...
I have noticed that if I put my tongue on my upper teeth and suck and breath in at the same time it really hurts, I want so much for this to sorted but I can't face going to my dentist as the last time was so traumatic, I've never been scared of them before that sad
But getting back to what I have... I had a funny turn on Thursday of last week where I was doing everything in slow motion it was really strange, I don't no what to do next, not sure this will Eva be sorted out. but any suggestions you may have my ears are open thanks for taking the time to read sorry to have gone on a lot, thanks again

I would advise you to carry on with the flixonase drops for the length of time the doctor told you to use them. They are intended to shrink the polyps and they need time, probably several weeks, to do this.

Don't worry about going to the dentist for a little while yet. Just give the drops a good trial. Give them chance to work.

Sounds like you are getting anxious and distressed. Not surprising but try to keep calm. flowers

You might find it helpful to ask the doctor if he could give you something to help with any anxiety this is causing you. Just a thought.

Flixonase caused a hole to form in my septum. Perhaps you should go back to your doc and get this checked if your nose is red and sore.

Go back to your doctor at once and ask for further investigation. Insist on a head scan.

Sorry, jut realised you'd had one. Must read more thoroughly. Your doctor said it was 'nothing' but there was something there? That doesn't make sense.

My dad had polyps removed from his nose a couple of times, can't the doctor arrange that or don't they do that anymore? hmm

I think you need to be a bit more 'full on' with your doctor, as this does not sound right. If it was me, I would demand some action.Good luck.

My son-in-law had polyps removed from his nose a couple of years ago, he was in and out of hospital the same day.
